Topic: Challenge: Stimulus

This is going to be a fiscal cost to me if I am proven to use bad sources or tell an obvious lie. The Yell, aka Chris_Balsz will be judge, or if he refuses I offer the position to Black_Wing.

I will send $500 dollars to the leftist who proves I use bad sources in this challenge or tell an obvious lie (Excepting ignore list who is Decimus, Noir, and Dirty Iluvatar).

The challenge will start with a few questions, posed to you, which to participate you must answer.

Then I will post my argument, with sources of evidence, and you get to examine the argument and the sources.





The first question is this:

How much do you think, if Obama gets his dreams (aka any and all stimulus he passes/has passed work out), that our economy will grow, percentage wise over any 3 years span, per year inside a 5 year span.

Example I could claim that in 2010 there will be a 100% increase, 2011 a 100% increase, and 2012 a 100% increase. This would of course be an extreme example, but could be one of your claims.

You will be assessing your percentages either on one of two years, 2006 as a base or 2008 as a base. This means if you choose 2006 you are assuming the recession/depression is ended prior to the growth, or if you use 2008 numbers you are assuming this is the move out of the depression.



I will post the second question in roughly 20-28 hours from now.

over 2008 levels
2009 = 0.01% increase
2010 = 0.2% increase
2011 = 10.59% increase

The numbers you choose are not so important, the only factor is that you be prepared to understand where I am leading to later, and thus knowing of this is essential to assist you in trying to nay say me.

There will be two questions tomorrow followed by the following day being my argument.

I don't have enough knowledge about such things. I don't profess to know if the stimulus package is a good or bad thing; unlike some people here who of course have all the knowledge in the world and would make a far better president (why dont you people stand in 2012?)

But I would ask how much will the economy grow after the package has taken effect, compared to if there was no stimulus package?

Of course it's all up to personal opinion etc and I won't be debating it cause I don't know enough on this subject, and I won't be reading about it because it seems no one here has an impartial view.

Please base this upon a percentage for the top 20% and another for businesses. Please also consider the income for the top 20% to include standard income as the government see's it.

For example I could say 1000% for the 20% and 10,000% for businesses (both deliberately extreme examples, please try to be realistic)

he cant give you 500$, becouse he doesnt have 500$, and its this moneythrowing mentality he has, that forced the banks to stop loaning cash to people seeing as all they seem to plan to do with it is lose it in discussions on the internet
