It was getting late when Torqez finally left the library. He'd been reading a lot of books on ancient history lately, but what kept him in the library tonight was a magazine he'd discovered tucked between the pages of "Roman Emperors and Their Bath Habits". It was a very old literary magazine that specialised in poetry about nipples. Suffice to say, Torqez was preoccupied and spent his entire evening reading the magazine and trying to find other similar magazines. When he finally decided to go home, the sun had already set. Remembering the warning issued, he quickly got into his car and hurried home. At first he was a bit anxious, but he soon forgot about the mafia when his favourite song started to play on the radio. Singing along, he cruised through the night.

"Ooo
Help me
Ahh, yea-yeah, purple haze, yeah"

But while he sang along, with passion and without any sense of rhythm, he failed to notice a black car approaching from behind. With his lights dimmed, the black car sped towards him and in the middle of a particularly high note, Torqez looked in his rearview mirror, seeing the black car just before it hit his car. He hit the gas pedal, trying to escape, but the black car had no trouble in keeping up with him. After all, what could Torqez' little car hope to achieve against such a fast car? It hit his car car, with more speed this time. Hoping to outsmart his assailant, Torqez suddenly turned, driving into a small alley, into which the other car couldn't follow him.

Without hesitation, Torqez got out of his car and ran down the alley, looking for a way to escape, before the driver of the black car would come after him. Seeing a fire escape ladder, he got hold of it and climbed to the roof of the building as fast as he could. Once up there, he fell to his knees, already panting from the effort.

"Thought you could escape, huh? Pity we anticipated this, I guess."
Torqez looked up in the direction of the voice. A mobster walked towards him. Down on the street, he could hear a car halt. Instinctively, he knew it was the black car. He also knew there was no escape as the mobster aimed his gun at him. On his feet again, Torqez backed away, frantically looking around him. But it was to no avail, he was doomed. As he still tried to back away from the gun, he tripped, almost falling off the roof.

"Night night, Torqez. Be honoured, you're the first townie to die." A single shot later, the innocent townie Torqez was no more.

Meanwhile, at the other end of town, Primo was sitting in his garden, admiring the stars. Despite the sheriff's warning and him insisting that all townspeople stay inside during the night, Primo couldn't resist. He'd had a few beers already and really needed some fresh air. Besides, on a beautiful night as this, what could possibly happen he thought. He walked around his garden in circles, looking up at the sky, muttering the names of the constellations as he gazed upon them. This kept him so busy that he failed to notice the person creeping through the bushes at the far end of his garden. Carefully and as silently as possible, the serial killer came closer. In his left hand, he held a headless rat, which he had killed only minutes before, hoping to quench his thirst for blood.

Alas, it wasn't enough, so he decided to try his luck elsewhere when he noticed Primo walking around in his garden. He was almost upon his clueless victim, already stroking the knife he was holding with his finger. But then Primo noticed something and turned around. It all happened in a split second. Primo tried to scream as the serial killer jumped at him, throwing the headless rat in his face while raising his other hand with the knife. Somehow the rat managed to end up in Primo's open mouth, making him gag for breath while the serial killer knocked him to his knees. Primo spit out the dead rat and punched around him, hoping to hit his opponent. Despite getting hit in the groin, however, the serial killer still managed to stab Primo in the back. After repeating this a few times, Primo stopped moving and a stream of blood had gathered around the serial killer's feet.

He knelt and dipped a finger into the puddle. Bringing it to his mouth, he tasted the blood and grinned. One innocent townie had already fallen to the bloodlust of the serial killer. And he didn't intend to stop just yet.
