Topic: Hack

The hack surprised some ppl, made laugh some others.

There is nothing surprising and nothing really funny in it.

The hacker put a funny link, yeah it's great! But many ppl lost infra, portals, fleet, some have been deleted from the game. Rounds are very long, too long, and having someone abble to do that isn't funny.

Why this thing happened???

IC hasn't been cleaned of some ppl everybody ask to remove from the game for monthes.
When u are active in this game u know most ppl in the game, and it's not very difficult to know who has the personality to do such a thing.

That doesn't make a big list, then when u follow some real strange things coming from same ppl rounds after rounds, list becomes very short...

Playing in the betas was fun though.  tri-alliances...no bureaucracy or building costs...


But all in all, I agree with Kol.

In war planning, you must anticipate the actions of the enemy.  Be careful lest your preventative measures teach the enemy which of his possible actions you most fear.

Tri alliances is not the subject. I agree with Kollop.
The hacker must be really proud for hacking IC's forum that have been all the same since the betas,
which meens alot of security breaches.. And now [barfed] up for alot of players.

Each round there are at least 3-4 fams breaking nap in each galaxy, some illegal alliance.
Each round some sell first tick all their iron at 0.01 and buy food at 50gc.
I never heard anyone has been blocked for this. And when someone is, 3 days later he is back in game.
Whoever it is some players took the habit to do what they want in IC, because there are no sanctions. Why wouldn't they hack the game if they have the capacity?...
Last round in Andro, Middle had his portals razed during a war, then has been deleted, that should have warned mods...
Few monthes ago mods talked about a new code of honor and nothing came.

"some illegal alliance"< if people get caught in an IA then something is done about it & players sometimes do get blocked for it...

Once people are blocked they are free to join again Kollop, most blocking offences are misdemeanours that do not warrant permanent banning from the game. Unlike hacking.

The situation with Middle was all rather ambiguous to say the least & he should be more careful with is information.

The "new" code of honour was scrapped cos there was no postive inpout & no one even gave an example of what they wanted included after it being up for 3 months, if players don't want something there's no point in flogging a dead horse.

Mods make rules then players follow them, not the contrary.
Players are not here to make the rules.
And i'm sure that in the thread opened, there were many good ideas u could have picked and adapted to what is possible to be done.

I'm not sure it would be difficult to:
-When a leader cancels a nap in relation, attacks are impossible for 48H, same as when u cancel a war.
-When a player made some attacks he can't delete for 24H, same as when he wants to go in Vmode.
-Market could open few days after start like that aids through market would be insignificant if the player hasn't developped his infra.

Something more difficult to make, but that could be funny and could incite ppl to be more honorable, would be to make some honorable victories and some dishonorable like it exists in WOW for PvP when u kill someone too small.
It would be shown in history, that could not be hiden, and i'm sure many ppl would not want a bad history, showing they are farmers...

I'm not sure it would be very difficult to make all this and that would solve 90% of the problems that make ppl angry, sad or disappointed each time it happens to them...

its true Kollop that mods make rules and players follow

but what if they start implementing rules that the players dont like? thats not going to help the players or the mods, i think what we personally need is a more proactive community and mods that listen to them, not saying anything against any of the current mods in particular or the community in the fact either, i just think there needs to be a better input system? the suggestion forum is good, but not many people post in there reasonable ideas and to be honest its hard to think of practical things to improve this game. its a tried a tested game, for 9 years its been going and anything on a large scale would upset its perfectly balanced nature..

but i definatly agree i dont care if the hacker put the funniest joke in the world on the forums, it caused disruption and annoyance to us all.

ps kollop your ideas are good and worthy of discussion smile theres definatly stuff there that i think could be benificiary to the game smile

ps this forum is temporary until they get a nice design for it so dont be too impatient Piggy smile

make tagpoints come back, and do it based in honour, so ppol would think it twice bfore raping a guy ranked 100 spots below, what kollop says shoulda been done ages ago to let newbies play in a balanced game instead of forcing them to pass a training gal just to be raped in a regular gal.

Game has to be made in order mods have nothing to do, as now they can already do nothing!!
They can't follow all round story and see when something illegal has been done.
They can't even guess who cheats (or hack), when it's easy to know when u are really in.
Game as to be changed for real and even ass holes like Psychogenesis will be pains only in forums not ingame...
Game as to be adapted and become a place where ppl have fun and where bad human behaviours can't be possible because it's impossible to do. PPl can't do it by themselves so game as to do it.
Actualy it's impossible to have it, even if it would be easy to do, so pray that Stefan sells the game to someone abble to do something great!
