just like china, the US is using population control.

Instead of limiting birth, the US gives guns to krazy people who then shoot 10 people big_smile

In Texas tons of people have guns. If you know the person your trying to rob has a gun your less likely to try and use one on  them? tongue

or maybe, when you know they have a gun, you just shoot them when you start the robbery, to make sure he doesnt shoot back smile

i think its harder to rob someone ith a gun if guns arnt allowed for anyone and are hard to come by as random cheap robber.

If it' not a gun it's a knife, if it's not a knife it's a razor blade, if it' not a razor blade it's a pencil.....I think you see where I'm going with this. It doesn't help either way, it's one of those "Dammed if you do dammed if you don't" situations.

maybe, still i think its harder to rob someone with a knife then with a gun. So maybe large knifes should also not be allowed to be carried in public.

Besides, the more off those weapons you outlaw, the better chance cops stand, seeing as the chance that the badguy also has a gun gets much smaller

I respectfully disagree but you are entitled to your opinion. All I know is that I follow news feeds from all over the world and I don't see much difference between countries that have guns (like here in the states) vs countries who don't have them (like Japan).

Sure i agree that those guns might give some form off protection, esp in area's that are demographicly isolated, like a gasstation along a long and lonesome road, where polices has a responcetime off 2 years. But in urban area where theres plenty off cops, i dont see the need for a gun to protect your store

-.- Your looking at the wrong numbers. If course we're going to have more deaths by guns over here.....we're the 4th largest in population, and guns are legal.

Look at the crime rate % in proportion to the general population. Those will give you more accurate numbers to compare to. I'm too lazy to look them up right now.

as we learned in this forum.. the super high ammount of shootings and amok runs in the states has nothing to do with the broad spread of guns.

Last time this happened i asked for other reasons. None had been given.
So we have to assume that something in the american society is wrong and makes people more violent, disrespecting life and brutal then in other "western " (i begin to really hate this term) nations.
I am very intrested in what that difference may be.

Also i so much would like to know if this guy would have commited his amok run if he would have to do it with a knife and if he would have to stab all the people with actual work.

-.- The point I was trying to make is to remove the "guns" from the equation and simply look at the type of crime itself regardless of the weapon used.

And doesn't GB currently have this problem with their teens going all looney lately?

Note: Some dude did a similar crime in Japan using a knife, so it's very possible.

indeed schniepel, thats what i wonder as well.

As far as i know, when someone in NL commits suicide its most often just himself. In worst case he/she takes his direct family along or a certain person(s) that ruined his/her life (i.e. bully @ school ect.). However randomly killing people on the streets? almost never happens without a gun

see, now thats a biased statistic. is death by a gun worse then all other murders? no, everyone is willing to admit the US has more guns, and murder by guns is more likely here, but just because a murder was done by a gun, doesnt mean it wouldnt of been done if the gun isnt present. compare actual murder statistics, instead of "gundeaths".

The US also has huge borders, and an inability to regulate them. guns dont have to be legally sold in the US for them to be readily available to criminals. GB is a small Island nation; what works for them doesnt necessarily work for the US.

Nobody cares what you think. Many firearms are illegal in the entire US. Many drugs are illegal in the entire US and carry VERY steep prison time up to life for a first offense. You can still buy them in every city and many neighborhoods.

i just think its way easier to pull a trigger and shoot someone then to run over to him and stab him.
It just takes way more guts to stab someone or chob someones head of then to just pull a trigger.

when a large percent of the population has guns, it takes alot more guts to shoot people then it takes to stab someone in an unarmed population.


Canada which is much more comparable to the US then GB, started strict gun control, and their crimes rose. and in the US Chicago and Washington DC banned firearms and saw their crimes rise.
