Wiki passed away?

skoe: True (although I don't see that as an issue). But it doesn't answer the question of why not a wiki. They could use a service like Wikia if they don't feel like dealing with Stefan/hosting it themselves.

A. The response couldn't be much worse than what's here already
B. If the mods *really* want a link in the forums, PunBB supports "redirect forums": these are forums that act as links to external pages. They could replace this forum with a redirect forum that goes to the wiki.

That's because it's an external site, run entirely by the community.
Now, the point of this forum is, to quote Nolio, to be a place "Where we can add important and interesting things that happen in order for us to look upon later!" My argument is that this goal is much more suited to a wiki than a forum. I pointed out that a wiki already exists for the same purpose. The mods don't have to use it: they could use a free, hosted one from Wikia. However, it doesn't change my argument.
And how exactly does it "suck," other than the fact that it's an external site with very little traffic?

Which is because most people don't know its there... i have always found IC Wiki to be useful, and still go there occassionally

FYI, we're not mind readers, if you see something wrong pointing out what it is is useful. For example, if your post had actually cited any entries, I could have read them and seen whether or not the information contained in them was accurate.

I would say that just because a site is external doesn't mean that it can't be successful.  Remember IC-Mafia/IC-Wizards?  IC-Gallery?

And I'm sure most players don't even know about the wiki.  A little link love would get people interested, and I know people love writing, especially when it's about themselves.

I guess I'm not really sure what the point of this forum is.  If it is simply for the sake of "let's talk about the good ol days", then yes it is much better as a forum here than the wiki.  If however, its purpose is to document IC happenings, then I'd say the wiki is more appropriate due to its encyclopedic nature.

Really though, people talking here is better than nowhere at all.  If nothing else, information posted here can be copied over to the wiki where we can link names and what have you.
