Don't generalize, I am also a conservative and going to college. I'm going to college in an almost purely liberal area. (I live 30 minutes from Seattle in King County, the rest of Washington is conservative except where I live in
). I would agree that I do have a hard time debating with many of my college acquaintances, their snide hubris is infuriating sometimes. I've even taken to simply just saying "it's hard to be objective when your reason is defective". I'd agree that the vast majority of liberals cannot see the truth about the economy, many of them lack the basic understanding of the free market.
The relationship between the mainstream media and liberals is quite interesting I've found, I've argued with many liberals and a couple of times I've found they support their views by simply stating they thought they saw it on CNN as if the media somehow had this innate authority on political issues. Then if you ever tried to support something with something with a statement from Rush Limbaugh or Michael Medved you are simply insulted. (Because we all know insults are incredibly constructive thought processes).
Anyways, I'm grateful to add my name to the list of Republicans in this forum : ).
