In this order:

1) USA
Due to spending ourselves into a super bankruptcy, with a nation teetering on civil war, and with 50% of our nation being idiots who think that we are 'to big to fail' and sadly with them having pretty much uncontestable power.

2) China
For two decades their entire growth was due to US purchases of their goods. The severe trade imbalance allowed them a utopian type growth unparalleled short of US growth. They have been trying prior to the economic collapse to keep their currency at a low level compared to the US Dollar so they could keep this growth. However as soon as the collapse started around the  world they started having true issues. In fact some several ten thousands of companies have shuttered their doors there, showing a true issue for the Chinese... If America collapses then so does China. Rising civil unrest has started to pass Tiananmen Square for total involved, though it is much more decentralized as of yet. However this will grow as unemployment grows and people do not get a job again.

3) EU
Without a strong trade partner, and with pacifistic ideals, they will bow under the pressure of Russia with their gas monopoly. Fearful of being involved in any wars they will concede to many things to Russia in exchange for the oil/gas. Also sadly is that while the US goes down, Islam will think it is a holy time to strike against the infidels of the West, and of the West Europe is the easiest to reach, and is also saturated with Islamic enclaves at this time. A surplus of illegal and easily obtained weapons will result in the defenseless populations (Excepting a few notable nations where the gun rights are supreme) being severely cut down. Deaths will be in the millions for sure. This will go on until the United States recovers under a Conservative who will then rescue the pacifists again.

Also there is a chance Venezuela could get invaded by Columbia for financing the rebels in Columbia.

Besides, the mayas didn't see 2012 as the end of the world nor was there a prophet involved. Their time calculation system would just get to 13.0.0. The whole end of the world thing is a western interpretation based on 13 being unlucky. The Mayas themselves saw it as the end of an era and the start of a new one. So, at best "the end of the world AS WE KNOW IT"..

US and the EU know what needs to be done in this type of situation anyways, and will adapt and get through this "crisis" in good shape and come out stronger than before. China won't allow itself to fall, it's that simple over there. -.- Russia is the weak link, if they learned their lessons after the collapse of the USSR they could survive this situation on relatively good shape. Course Russia also has a good history of not earning form their own mistakes.

Russia is about to blow up large. I expect Russian naval bases throughout NATO by 2015, because a) they like that sort of thing and b) you like to eat hot food in winter and c) Uncle Sucker will be preoccupied with his own navel.

China, I don't know.  From what I hear there is real popular, man-in-the-street pride in the first unified Chinese govt since 1911 and the strongest since 1800.  For sure, nobody else is going to contest the PRC's control of the population and the territory.  Whether the PRC can keep the Chinese together under the PRC is something else.  Mao couldn't rein in a pissed off China any better than the Dowager Empress.   Development and Solidarity are still more important than Freedom and personal prosperity, apparently, so they may continue to surf the ocean for some time.

Comparing the EU with the 3rd Reich is unethical and nonsensical The EU is a slowly advancing machine. It'll not collapse, it'll slowly unite nations..

This is typicall russian. They announced to renew  their navy indeed, yet they don't have any construction site that's large enough and operational that could build new vessels. Also, they don't have the money to either build or support them..
