Perhaps you're right Talic. But it's sad that the game has gotten to the point where we just know the Admin will do nothing about it... 

So, any takers how much longer the game has left? I say about 3 or 4 more rounds... I think February 2010 will be the death of the game. Also I have a pretty good sense for how it will happen too. There won't be any announcement, or any formal goodbyes. There will be a major crash or an EoR(even if the mods do have the power to reset the round), and the mods won't even know it's coming. They'll ask Stefan to do something for the game, and he'll just never respond... lol. And everyone will slowly stand around the forums, scratching their head for a month, bitching and yelling at each other over whose fault it was. The mods will leave one by one. And the game will end. Half of us will go outside, play with our children, take up a new language, travel somewhere exotic, touch our gfs/wive's vaginas(!!), etc... But the other half will wallow in despair for a good 2 months, then join WoW and continue the same obsessive, and whiney behavior for another ten years, slowly counting the days down to their cold and lonely demise... Gotta love internet gaming, eh?

to compare this soldier bug with the 1 TO bug and the research buggy is pretty flawed logic imo.

The 1 TO bug wasnt a real bug but a glitch (if you dont get the difference: a bug is a code error, a glitch is a game weakness. Stefan didnt code the part wrong, he just didnt think of 1 TO giving maximum income bonus thingy at that point). Also its effect wasnt that big and only in the beginning.
mil research bug: This one has quite an effect for sure but you could get the 1% research all round long if you learned about the bug.

The soldier bug cant be "fixed" by the player in the round by adjusting to it because the race cant be changed. Also the impact of the soldier bug is quite big. Building figs as main defense has some serious drawbacks because unlike ground units, you can easily run down almost all the defense by attacking a single portalled planet. Also fighters are way more expensive to build...
Any comparing to past bugs is bogus imo. You could still argue that those bugs were handled wrong in the past by not announcing them/making them more obvious to the players by not only posting it in the bugs forum.

I came back this round after a 1 year break and read announcements etc (not bug forum though) to learn about the changes. Are you really expecting everyone to be lucky and somehow get to know about the bug from somewhere else or miraculously read the bug forum? Lets talk it bold:

he has support from players including veteran players, just because they dont post in this thread doesnt mean they dont exist.  what point is there to posting in here?  someone will just argue that your wrong or  call you a silly name for no reason at all, so posting here is pointless to show any support for what artic is saying.  there are plenty of people who support him.

but you all dont stop to realise all the argument and names and wacky jokes take all the seriousness and effectiveness out of making a thread like this which is designed to fix a problem.

well thats artics fault; if he had simply come and posted about the problem and not knowing about it and asking nicely if it could be fixed or adjusted then 99% of the crap in the thread would have been avoided.

but when u start accusing people of cheating then u ruined any chance of the topic being about anything else.

Artic or not, this bug STILL needs to be fixed though.
