Republicans Tax the bottom 50% and give it to the top 5%

Taxes are just a way of redistributing wealth. Its a way of bringing socialism into a capitalist society.

If they merely enforced the current tax code and closed the corporate loopholes for tax evasion we would have a lot more revenue coming in. This is the fault of government officials not doing their jobs (no surprise there) and is something that has been going on for decades.

Government programs that include the building of infrastructure and improved efficiently in our energy grids will build more wealth over time. It's an investment that should have been made decades ago. Sometimes it takes government initiatives to get the ball rolling on things like this. This is true all throughout history.

The elite don't pay taxes, or it's an insignificant part of their income.

And really, a flat tax of 20% or so would probably close the loop holes that elites are able to use in order to avoid taxes, and it would alleviate the burden on the rest of us who are easily paying 50% of our taxes. We could then use that income to purchase our own health care services etc.

I love it when Flint assumes what people are thinking, composes a response based on tha assumption only to find out that he assumed incorrectly. ^.^

First off it's going to take us decades to reduce the national debt down to a more manageable number. That's simply something we're all going to have to accept. Republicans claimed they could do it in a few years, that didn't work out, what makes you think Obama will do any better? I sure don't, I'm a realist. My comments about enforcing the current tax code is based simply on principles. If we enforced our tax codes they way their meant to be enforced we would have more revenue coming in. At no point did I even mention Obama's name in anything I said. So please, stop assuming people are saying things. wink

Pipe dream? Unrealistic? I'll be blunt: It's a lie.

The interest on all this new debt is immense as well. If anyone can explain how this president is anything but as bad as the old one or worse, I'm dying to hear it. Because taxing one man to pay another government employee is not "job creation" insofar as jobs in the private sector have to create wealth or they never make profit. Paying $300,000 (borrowed, so there's interest added on top of that) to pay a man $40,000-$50,000 for work is not going to help our economy. Only retards believe it will. I don't mean to insult people who believe government spending is great for our economy. I mean that you really have to be a stupid human being to believe it.
