Topic: Stunning lecture.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ji5_MqicxSo

Now the "lecture" is an hour long, but I was absolutely stunned when I saw it. Normally I don't watch these things, but I was caught after 2 minutes.

Basically it's about fulfilling your childhood dreams. He goes through different events of his life, talking about the walls he met during his life, and giving the students advice on how to make their own careers and sucesses in life.
I know, it sounds boring, but I found it very interesting.

Who am I?

Re: Stunning lecture.

I was watching this one a while back too. Never got to finish it though (I had to be somewhere else), but it's indeed very good.

Re: Stunning lecture.

i watched the first couple of minutes..actually i watched like 11 minutes

great speaker, no doubt. when people stop telling you what you're doing wrong, they've stopped caring or given up -- the biggest thing i picked up in those first 11 minutes

Re: Stunning lecture.

Deci, there is nothing stupid about wanting to become a serial killer! Unless you're hoping to get caught for it and want media attention. That's stupid.

I'll never know if it was worth the pain, but I still loved it more than anything in the world - it was my life.

The Great Eye is watching you... when there's nothing good on TV...

Re: Stunning lecture.

Darr, this is old as hell and very good

Not many people know this, but I own the first radio in Springfield. Not much on the air then, just Edison reciting the alphabet over and over. "A" he'd say; then "B." "C" would usually follow...

Re: Stunning lecture.

I wanted to be an astronaut sad

I settled for launching them into space.  Not the same really, but as close as I can get with my vision methinks

TC pwns me

Re: Stunning lecture.

Astronauts aren't so impossible to become are they? I don't know much but I didn't think it would be that hard... or is it because there aren't too many astronauts needed? Well in future years, with Earth becoming so advanced in technology, they'll probably want more astronauts as they explore space and stuff smile

Launching astronauts is pretty close. Sounds fun too actually big_smile

I wanted Pokemon and Yoshi and stuff like that to be real. I think everyone in their childhood has at least wanted to have Pokemon/ live in a Pokemon world etc. In all reality, we actually sort of do... we have animals. It's just that we don't capture them and force em to fight and stuff XD.

Thanks for the link, I'll watch it when I can! smile

Re: Stunning lecture.

Just finished listening to it, kinda zoned off abit thoughout so didn't really get the whole meat of it plan on watching it again tomorrow. However about achieving your childhood dreams, i never had one to be honest as more concerned with watching scooby doo, pokemon, and dragon ball z ... however as he said in the end the head fake was not realizing your child hood dream but living a good life and everything comes togehter. I so agree, after i changed my life around and honestly got a deeper connection with god, i'm now living my dream (or should i say gods will) of ultimately becoming a doctor and i'm loving every moment of it ... even the intensely hard moments and content to learn X(

Re: Stunning lecture.

I watched it last night, listened intently throughout, but sadly it didn't do much for me. Well... It was good, but could have had just as much effect if it was condensed down to 20mins. I did like (paraphrasing) "brick walls are there for you to show how badly you want something".
