Topic: Thanksgiving

He who ignores/forgets/distorts history is doomed to repeat it.

An interesting read.

Also however is the other side of history.

The pilgrims tried to do a socialistic plan, whereupon each would contribute to a colony 'pot' and would take what they needed from the community stores as well. This did not work out so well as quickly it was shown the human factor made many slothful, lazy, and greedy. This resulted in hard times for the pilgrims. When the system was abandoned the pilgrims started getting their act's together, and got the surplus, which lead to the first thanksgiving day.

In short this nation was somewhat started on communism/socialism. And it failed immediately. When capitalism was placed, the people grew prosperous and were able to avert the disaster communism/socialism was causing.

While this post is late for Thanksgiving, it should give pause to you and help you understand that certain things are older thought than any hero such as Marx, and have already failed many many times over.

And God Bless the meal big_smile

Everything bad in the economy is now Obama's fault. Every job lost, all the debt, all the lost retirement funds. All Obama. Are you happy now? We all get to blame Obama!
Kemp currently not being responded to until he makes CONCISE posts.
Avogardo and Noir ignored by me for life so people know why I do not respond to them. (Informational)

Re: Thanksgiving

Thats not disproving the viability of socialism or communism Flint...if anything it proves the laziness and greed of fat America.

But this is also nonsense, so your argument is thus void.

Morbo: Morbo can't understand his teleprompter. He forgot how you say that letter that looks like a man with a hat.
Linda: It's a 't'. It goes "tuh".
Morbo: Hello, little man. I will destroy you!!

Re: Thanksgiving

Well communism doesn't work in practise indeed, but socialism is something else.
Socialism is in fact capitalism but with a little more interference from the government, and that does work quite well in a lot of countries today.

What do I have to work with?

Of all possible things, this is anarchism not socialism or communism. If there's no governmental instance, we call it anarchism. And yes, that's doomed to fail, as not all people are honest enough to contribute. This, however doesn't prove anything for anarchism or socialism..

God: Behold ye angels, I have created the ass.. Throughout the ages to come men and women shall grab hold of these and shout my name...
