and Pulp Fiction (I can't believe i left so many out, guess i was trying to keep the list short:P didn't turn out well)
Most people saw Pulp Fiction so many times on telly, it lost a bit of its excellence (wich is not the movie's fault)
"if all it takes to be a great movie is to provide drivel for the masses, then i guess it might be a great movie. but Shakespeare isnt considered great because of his popularity during his time, mass curb appeal is a horrible way to judge something."
No, but if the professional critics and moviemakers agree, it's a different thing. Anyhoo, you're so determined not to agree with me, I'm not going to bother..
zomg i zeh italian job
forgot to mention that one ![]()
and loads of others as well ![]()
ah well.
no one mentioned "saw" yet? ( i wouldnt as i havent seen it yet
)
Oo Italian Job is good. Never seen Pulp Fiction.. Also I have no idea how I forgot V for Vendetta because that is one of my favorite movies of all time.
Also, saw wasn't mentioned because it sucks.
Zomg l00k at g0r3! omfg his arm is off! great movie!
Saw was indeed a piece of rubbish ![]()
it's hard to say what is the best movie since there are so many different genres each with good stuff in them
but I would say:
best war movie: saving private ryan
best science fiction movie: star wars, part IV (runner up being 'alien')
best romantic comedy: there's something about mary
best comedy: the big lebowski
best action movie: die hard
best semi-historical movie: spartacus (runners up being gladiator and 300)
best zombie movie: 28 days later
best dystopian movie: brazil (runner up being 'blade runner')
then of course there are those original movies like memento, pulp fiction and the sixth sense which might not fit in distinct categories but are very neat...
though honestly like so many people I've seen so many movies I would probably change my mind on some of these picks if other titles were brought back to my attention
and ironically with the availability of so many illegaly downloaded versions it's amazing how many crappy movies are out there that are barely worth watching ![]()

im not determined to not agree with you. if you look, i didnt attack any of the movies you originally stated, you attacked my position on certain movies, you're determined to not agree with me.
Not at all, I merely stated that The Shawshank Redemption is seen as one of the world's best films.
im not going to debate this. clearly there are other movies you could of said is seen as one of the best films, but you didnt, because you're determined to disagree with me; theres no point continuing this discussion.
I can live with that ![]()
lol good stuff
40 yr old virgin or superbad could be on the top charts of comedy. (Never seen big lebowski)

die hard is a classic
and die hard is definitely aired way too much
drama: meet joe black
comedy: fightclub
action: batman begins
fight club was a comedy?
yep, a dark comedy
think about it, you dont watch it because of the action, you dont watch it because its a touching story, you watch it to laugh at the ridiculous things done and said.
