Re: Trans Fats

fokker, you do have legit questions.  My exercise isnt flawless, most of them I can answer with a "yes" but I'm not perfect.  Would you, as a result, suggest I am doing the wrong thing for my body by my course of exercising?

Like I said before, I'm not trying to be the next bodybuilder.  Just trying to live a good, healthy life.  I'm happy to lose the attitude, as long as you come at me without the manner to create one.

tp, your a little angry there, as usual.  I have a hard time taking you seriously though, when you have yet to prove to me that you are the least bit smarter.  You can tell me that you dont need to prove anything to me, well thats fine, just dont come at me like you trashing everything I say about nutrition when you arent showing yourself to be any smarter.

No I didnt major in nutrition, and until you have and have demonstrated a solid foundation of knowledge in the area, twistedpuppet you have no business telling me I am not worthy of expressing what I do know through hard work & research in a semester of work on the subject, in addition to private & personal study of nutritious habits and lifestyles.

Additionally, tp, I never said anything about not wanting comments.  In fact I welcome opposition.  I just wish yall would challenge me on something with some facts to back them up.  Not question my judgment in areas of my life that you do not know.  You claim I "rant" to everyone else's "valid point."  Ok, yea sure fine I rant, but my rants include some facts & figures, and points to defend my case.  TP you are not arguing against any of my points in your post, your just arguing about me in general.  If my personal choices in life offend you, I apologize, but your not going to convince me to change them or not to post in a thread I created, just because you don't like them.

Worrying about your cholesterol is fine, but worrying about gaining weight via fat in general is not. It's a safety thing, think of your fatty tissue as a buffer for when you dont have enough energy available during your workout (for whatever reason) to prevent your body digesting itself, which it will do despite your desire to add muscle mass.
How's that for a paradox? smile
So leave the fat layer alone, no matter how big it gets, untill you have acheived a muscle mass you are happy with, then you can cut down on the amound of food you eat.

If you can tell me about your exercise regime I might be able to point a few things out, but if you're not going for hardcore muscle building then I doubt it.

Re: Trans Fats

I'm really not going for hardcore muscle building.  I have relatively minimal body fat.  The idea is not to gain a lot of fat and then build it into muscle, but rather build muscle from scratch.  If I can't do that, then I presume just stay thin.

I understand that exercise involves burning extra calories (especially cardiovascular exercise).  And therefore I have a greater appetite.  As a result I do eat almost 3 meals a day now, and sometimes those don't even fill me up.  I presume the extra caloric intake will be used in the the extra calorie burning, and as a result build a desired muscle mass, without gaining a lot of fat (or rather, a large gut, or beer belly).

I'm not a Malaysian marathon runner, and am not burning calories at rail-thin weights making myself a practically personally-assumed "anorexic."  But rather am trying to burn calories in the most healthy way, while continuing to maintain a healthy diet of fruits & vegetables, and non-existent trans-fat intake, with minimal saturated fat intake.  If you know of a healthier way to live than that, I'd like to hear it.

You wont gain alot of fat: During training I eat 6000 calories a day in 5-6 meals a day, but my BMI is 10 and I weigh barely 150lbs.

EDIT: Medically speaking I'm underweight.
