Re: \m/ The Rock Metal and Necro Thread \m/

I found out what he means by "Necro"!
Fokker, the correct term that everyone else uses is Brutal Death Metal tongue
Which also means I'm not touching that link in a thousand years.

As for favourite songs, I'll put up a list later.

I'll never know if it was worth the pain, but I still loved it more than anything in the world - it was my life.

Re: \m/ The Rock Metal and Necro Thread \m/

that link wasnt anything weird or particularly disturbing foolish list ;p
(considering the topic of this thread that is:P)

Re: \m/ The Rock Metal and Necro Thread \m/

But terrible tongue

God: Behold ye angels, I have created the ass.. Throughout the ages to come men and women shall grab hold of these and shout my name...

Re: \m/ The Rock Metal and Necro Thread \m/

I didn't mean I expected disgusting pictures or anything.
Brutal Death Metal is just a genre in which only three bands ever managed to make nice music. The rest is terrible crap that somehow became popular because a bunch of kids wanted to listen to something "brutal and heavy" without caring too much about whether it was still music or just noise.

I'll never know if it was worth the pain, but I still loved it more than anything in the world - it was my life.

Re: \m/ The Rock Metal and Necro Thread \m/

However it's pulled out of it's context of the album (wich makes it sound odd), I'd like to present you Noise:

Boredoms - ~

Sonic Youth - The diamond sea

Re: \m/ The Rock Metal and Necro Thread \m/

"Fokker, the correct term that everyone else uses is Brutal Death Metal"

Silence Johnny Foreigner! *SLAP*
Necro is a catch-all term for Speed, Thrash, Death and Black Metal, although I will admit it is probably more local than I first thought... sorry smile
__________

Boredoms sound cool, I think I might have a look for some of their work, but to be honest I'm more of a Whitehouse (old Industrial Noise group) man myself.
__________

Today I purchased the album Hell Is Empty And All The Devils Are Here by Anaal Nathrakh: http://forum.valinor.com.br/attachment.php?attachmentid=18168&d=1211854347
Which features my new favourite song, Lama Sabachthani: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=xX3Wa7RS3DQ

Boredoms' Vision Creation Newsun is plain awesome.. You have to hear it in one go though...

God: Behold ye angels, I have created the ass.. Throughout the ages to come men and women shall grab hold of these and shout my name...

Re: \m/ The Rock Metal and Necro Thread \m/

Local term, fair enough. Probably limited to the borders of your town tongue
Mind if I ask how Speed came to be in there, considering it's way more common when combined with Power Metal? It doesn't sound as if it fits with the extreme genres. Purely curious there.

I'll never know if it was worth the pain, but I still loved it more than anything in the world - it was my life.

Re: \m/ The Rock Metal and Necro Thread \m/

On another note, to actually add to the thread:

Check out the band By Dawn Cursed.
It's a one-man Black Metal project, but surprisingly good actually.

It happened years ago when Speed was represented by bands like Nuclear Assault and people like The Great Kat, who are/were more anger than power....

WASP! \(^o^)/
I miss being 12, back when wearing a leather jacket made all of the other kids bravely shout "Greaser" from accross the schoolyard, and then hide behind their mates when you started walking towards them.

I've always found listening to Marduk to be like listening to a Death Metal washing machine on spin during a powersurge; DAKKADAKKADAKKADAKKADAKKADAKKADAKKADAKKADAKKADAKKA-BOOM-DAKKADAKKADAKKADAKKADAKKADAKKADAKKADAKKADAKKADAKKA-BOOM-
I don't know if this is an official video or not, but it's my favourite (still panzer division, just not live)

Re: \m/ The Rock Metal and Necro Thread \m/

Marduk is the example of taking all the raw elements of Black Metal, throwing them in a blender and plugging it in.
The only thing that makes them different from all the other bands that try this is that Marduk succeeds. I usually don't go for their kind of Black Metal, but they do it well!

I'm listening to Scene of Decay at the moment. Up to now, they only released a three-song demo but it's breathtakingly brilliant. Does Neo-Classical Melodic Death Metal sound awesome? Yes, it does.

As for Rock, I'm totally in Post-Rock mood these days.
65daysofstatic, God Is an Astronaut, Explosions in the Sky. These three are constantly in my playlist.

I'll never know if it was worth the pain, but I still loved it more than anything in the world - it was my life.

Re: \m/ The Rock Metal and Necro Thread \m/

....i'm listening to Gorgoroth "Ad Majorem Sathanas Gloriam" and Five Finger Death Punch "Way of the Fist" at the moment....but i can not help but go back to some "older" metal....like Pantera, Sepultura, Carcass, Morbid Angel, Cannibal Corpse and the likes.....

[email protected] never wore a leather jacket....i used to wear a denim one with patches, chains and stuff....lol....i thought i looked cool....

....when i was younger there were a lot of kids carrying "boom-boxes" blaring out rap/hiphop....so i used to walk down the street with one blaring out Venom....
