Topic: worth bankers having droids?

want to get your views on this.

when you have droids you do have better defense and could possibly allow that banker to do some core cleaning

however it does use up iron on a banker that will VERY rarely use those droids unless that fam is in permanent war...

worth having droids or not? your thoughts please  smile

banker with droids is a great idea, mainly if they are pop bankers as they do not add to the food costs....

plus droids have 7 defence compared to normal soldiers who have 5 (90% sure thats right)

Bankers have no attackbonus and therefor it is kind of a waste. On top of that you might not even want to spend stuff on bombers for bankers anyway. So if you want corecleaning before it gets defended, speed will do you more good.

In defence perspective it is a plus, so if you don't want to use the points for ops, you should take it.

as for food costs, i'd say: for a popbanker who already needs much food, this hardly makes any difference. It would be nice for a cfbanker who has farms to cover his own foodcosts smile

verdict: in hardcore galaxies I'd take it. in normal galaxies not!

I agree Zidi, fighters and some lasers do a better defence for a banker, and then complete with droids at ground.

droids for bankers? OF COURSE big_smile

soldiers are a weak mass of flesh and bones and they are often drunk when a banker is raided. Droids only have to be oiled from time to time and are hard to beat tongue

if u are cf bankers and if ur fam is bad i guess droids make u retake much better .

no droids aren't worth having, as bankers. Bankers have a negative attack bonus as it is, with the changes to the game it wouldnt effect much of anythign doing retakes. If the attacker wants to station enough that the banker can't take he will, now that idea is out the window. Also most times alot of attackers dont even station or station very few troops 1 trany and 2 soldiers can take the planet .... as far as defensive purposes, with the new additions i see no reason for droids on the bankers view

When in gods name would a banker need droids lol, it would be much more effective to give his "attacker" the droids wouldn't you say? wink

Exactly, when a banker no longer has an attacker (inactivity?) and can't build droids, he is now screwed. Royally.
He wont even be able to retake from a HC attacker.

10% fleet admiral bonus, 50% science bonus, 50% attack bonus, 10% no fear, and a much much bigger fleet means a HC attacker can now wipe the floor with any banker. And even worse is, that the lonely banker wont even have a chance at retaking...
