Not re-conquering Constantinople was one of Europe s biggest blunders.
So, the Greeks will be storming the shores of Gallipoli too? or or making a dash to Istanbul by land? either way, its going to be hilarious.
i also thought pushing the frontiers to the Danube was taking things a little far, other than that...at least there's some testosterone left somewhere in europe
Wow.....
And I thought all that Greeks were worried about was fishing, bleaching there houses and clothing, and sipping bitter coffee.
Holy shit !!!!!
"We are Sparta !!!"
/dances the Zorba dance
you got to feel for the greeks though, their capital of 1000 years in the hands of their neighbor/archnemisis...
like France owning London, or Japan holding Seoul, Pakistan New Delhi, and so on.
didn't go for the Olympic Games being always in Greece though.
"didn't go for the Olympic Games being always in Greece though."
I rather like the idea. Olympic Games, in Olympia, in a real Olympic stadium ![]()
As for their former capital being in Turkish hands: You've had how long to get over it? Please. Do you hear us getting snotty over Brittany?
i didn't know brittany was ever the center of the british homeland or culture, my bad
It wasn't, but it we lost it a lot more recently.
I suppose it helps that the french had the decency to not fiddle with it's name.
lol, this made me giggle.
Greece has 10mil inhabitants Turkey has seven times that.
it's the quality that counts, not quantity ![]()

Deci, lol. Most of Turkey's population is causasian.
The people of the Asia minor are physically similar to the way they have been since ancient times and the Hittite Empire.
it was a joke. though it's funny to notice that to defend turkey's quality, you say most of its population is caucasian ![]()

My point was that the Turks aren't the evil Asian invaders of Europe that you seemed to imply. However, they have adopted much of an Asian culture. The culture of the Turks has continued in Anatolia, even though their genetics haven't.

Turkey has pretty much more of everything

Nuclear weapons, past and present military experience, training and equipment quality are not taken into account.
Turkish armed forces have seen a lot more action then that of Greece. And police and Jandarma could wage a long guerrilla war in the narrow streets of Istanboel. They cannot in good mind retake a city of 10mil inhabitants, tear down all the mosques and other buildings and not get into a debt that would screw up their economy:p. Turkey would totally pwn their asses. Altough their are some tactics they could use that would ensure them victory their but that would kill any economy present there.
I wonder where Megisti is myself. Last I heard he had an eye injury from firefighting and then he hasn't posted so much.
I guess that # of artillery shown for Greece is wrong...
Why?
cos they have more than China and the US together?
Maybe they just have plenty of small artillery pieces on those small islands
That would make sense, it is a hilly country... I think.... It looks like it in the pictures.
It cerainly is. The greeks themselfs could blow up roads up to the mountains(not so many) and could use lightweight AA and a low amount of troops to hold out for a very long time. Just like the PKK. Food might be a problem tho. Not sure what they would do about that.
But using all that artillery would require them first to get a forward base. Establishing a forward base would need them to use a lot of their rescourses and the arltillery pieces. Turkey could then send upto a thousand soldiers supported by navy and aircrafts into Athene and take over parlement(kill?) for a short period of time until more forces could be commited.
But the whole concept of Greece declaring war is totaly stupid.
whatever happened to the browless fella..
