Topic: COD4 or Vegas 2

I seem to be noticing on Xbox Live that many people are turning to the new Rainbow 6 game instead of COD4.

Now, this to me is very silly indeed.

I have played through Vegas 2 in co-op story mode or what-ever you wish to call it. And it is a competent shooter, the graphics are to be desired at times ESPECIALLY scenery in Las Vegas etc, I.e. Cars on the roads would be nice and plots of land that weren't just concrete.

But never-the-less it is an enjoyable game and there are elements that are better than COD4, such as silencers being equipped in-game, more add-ons to guns in general, good use of night-vision and infrared etc but that's being veryy picky towards COD4.

There are many flaws to it, but I suppose at least Rainbow 6 has a REAL difficulty curve unlike most games...Oh and I like the riot shield guys as well, they cause problems with the Raging Bull =]...there's many things I can say I love and hate about the game...but what I originally posted this about is why people are forgetting COD4 and leaving it.

COD4 is perfection in modern warfare shoot-em-ups. It's simple.

So why the hell are people leaving it for Ubisofts (animation-robotronic-cinematic) JUST above average game...or is it just my friends list lol.

What do you lot think of COD4 and Vegas II?

Oh and one last thing that is a let-down on Vegas, you can't carry on party's online...you get taken straight back to the main menu...and have to go through searching again, SLIGHTLY irritating.

cod4 is a linear game for simpletons too slow to notice it. walk 5 meters and stop, your teammembers will run forward regardless of if you kept moving, turned around and ran back or stopped. walk another 5, your teammembers will run forward in exactly same behaviour. the AI in cod4 makes even halo's shitty AI look good, and that's saying a lot. quite frankly, cod4 has no AI to speak of. i did like the scenery, though. it was very varying.

cod4 is like playing a movie with a crappy plot. it looks nice, but your interaction rarely matters this or that. i think the only mission where it was actually compulsory for you to fire your gun was the airplane mission where you're shooting folks who are running around in the village.

Confirmation is for sissies and altar boys.

The single Player in COD4 is ridiculous I agree, It's too easy and too short, the AI is laughable: your team-mates will stand up in the middle of nowhere for no apparant reason and get spotted. The plot in Vegas is more interesting and captivating, but COD4's Live makes up for it whereas Vegas II's hasn't been too good, but hopefully that's because not enough people were online. I joined half-way in a game and ended up top of the table...meaning everyone else must've been shocking. The games are fairly simple and straight-forward yet you always spawn in the same area, meaning that the opposing team could camp in the enemies spawn area and pick them off one-by-one...there's a 5 second barrier for spawning but other than that you can just get picked off.

there's still some games that have good single-player gaming too. they're not supposed to be shitty by default.

Well I did buy Vegas for the online feature to see how it compared with COD4 I suppose...but also because I read you could do the story-mode in co-operative either with your mate next to you or online which is an exceptionally good idea.

The co-operative in the same-room hasn't been thought out well though...you can't change the vertical split-screen to horizontal meaning player 2 will have a stupid map popping up during play covering about half of his view  -.-

If you want a proper MP game, get Frontlines. It looks sexy.

COD4 has horrible gameplay. As usual, it's horrible to play in MP, just like the rest in the Call of Duty series.
I don't see how Rainbox Six could be done in MP, as it requires way too much planning.

I had the chance to play it online once, and it was horrible. People just rushed forward like in Counterstrike or Unreal Tournament...

had already downloaded cod4 and finished the SP

bought it for the MP

its pretty fun, except for some maps in which theres just no end to the snipers

cod4 is just a spam fest...

its multiplayer can be fun, but theres too many people running around with HMG's just holding the trigger down praying they will hit something, and spawning and throwing a grenade.

I haven't experienced that tbh, that's only ever happened playing headquarters...on Showdown, where one of the HQ's is in the centre of the map -.-
