Also i would like to mention that all this american "wealth" is kind of a hoax.. we are basically suffering from the result now.
Many people seem to have a house and that 26" LCD.. you 400$ chair.. even if they did not have the money to pay it. Lets have everyone build a house even if they will never be able to pay it hoooray.... long live the american dream.

well, its more the idiots in washington forcing the banks to give people the money to buy houses that have no place buying houses which created an artificial climb of house prices. i wouldnt really blame it on the large lcd's or comfortable furniture we have.

its wierd but true that if you havea  bigger monitor and play a FPS you have a wider field of sight.

I was against forcing subprime mortgages before they did damage, Schniepel. I don't like credit. I rarely spend anything on it, and I do just to maintain my perfect credit score with enough credit history to be able to make use. The American dream is that I can buy all the nice stuff I can afford and enjoy it and whining morons can go bankrupt and it's not my problem. At least, that used to be the Amerikan dream. Now we're going to socialize and lower ourselves to northern Europe's level.

yell, the problem is the larger monitors also have slower response times. thats why for serious fpsing, you cant go above 24" atm. or at least none of the 30" i've seen have had anything better then 5ms response time.  while theres 24" monitors with 2ms response times.

as for a 30" being too big.... i use a recliner so i'm usually a fair distance away from the actual monitor while playing. i currently have 24" and would like to go larger, 30" being the obvious choice because any smaller would use the same resolution i have and just decrease picture quality.  i think i've talked myself out of it atm. it appears OLED's are going to be able to compete with LCD's  and not just be ridiculously expensive toys in a year or two. they have higher pixel density, slimmer, lighter, more durable, faster response time, perfect blacks, use less energy, and will possibly be transparent when not in use.

schniepel, is the 30" at work widescreen? i think i've seen them widescreen and not, widescreen is obviously better at maximizing what you see in your field of view.  maybe when OLED monitor's come out, they'll be able to have much higher resolutions at smaller sizes.

and yes, its just not the banks, its the socialist idea in washington thats forcing this shit.

its the socialist attitude, that everyone deserves such and such that drives the politicians to force banks to give credit to people that shouldnt have it and is causing the economic crisis.

yeah, 5ms isnt so evil, just saying someone very serious about fps would be more concerned with the slower response time then they would about a slightly wider view.

well, both political parties in the US are socialist, so its no surprise that neither of them tried to change it.

i cant see how you can say competition to the free market is gone when a free market doesnt even exist...
