"May the greater good save us! Dol'elroeen! Take as many as you can and lets get out of here, we have no hope of surviving this!" Shas'Ka said as what remained of a flayed one splattered over the battlesuit. The Devlish expended all its rockets and anyone able jumped on it holding on to whatever they could.
Shas'Ka cursed himself. "Miscalculated the speed of the tanks." But this was no time to stop and think, he took Roland standing next to him under his arm and a Firewarrior near him as well then jumped to one that was about to get slashed by one of the hideous creatures and crushed the beast under his heavy feet.
"HOLD ON TO MY BACK! He shouted, although it was pointless, the Necrons barley made a sound except their constant footsteps and slight hissing sounds. The soldier leaped with all might as high as he could, trying to avoid the jet engines which roared into action as soon as he grabbed hold."
Tau warriors were falling left and right and Shas'Ka once again dammed himself. get in, get out. That was his objective, oh how he horribly failed. The Devlish transport barely avoided the main gun of the monolith and careened by its side but gaus fire from other Necrons managed to pick three off the back of the vehicle before they got further away.
Shas'Ka jumped, and jumped again, the engines roaring at full speed but the increased weight slowed down the suit considerably. Shas'Ka realized the one on his back would not be able to handle the G-forces and opted to change his location with Rolands who was much sturdier build but before he could the Firewarriors hands slipped from the suits neck and he fell to the ground just before they landed. Shas'Ka turned his body around and was about to return but the Firewarrior was gone. The monoliths main weapon had blasted away any trace of him. Pieces of earth rained down upon them.
Inside the bulky suit, a lonly tear trickled from the warriors face.
Not many people know this, but I own the first radio in Springfield. Not much on the air then, just Edison reciting the alphabet over and over. "A" he'd say; then "B." "C" would usually follow...
