Re: Warhammer roleplay: A new beginning

A gap opened next to the heavy bolter emplacement but the metal was forced outwards even further. The shrieking stopped and Roland looked upon a battlesuit, which was one of the merriest sights he had ever beholden.

Re: Warhammer roleplay: A new beginning

Shas'Ka watched the number of drones fall from his heads up display, it projected the entire battlefield, giving rough estimates of enemy movement and how they moved. More Necrons joined the pursuit and the fleeing group was quickly being caught up with by some of the hovering ones.
Suddenly one of the drone indicators flashed orange and red immediately thereafter, then another one. Before Sha

Re: Warhammer roleplay: A new beginning

The storm trooper did as he was told and marked a necron destroyer with the red laser. Almost instantly, the missile pods of two battlesuits came to life and aimed at the destroyer. The steel beast was heavily damaged and dropped into the grass, but continued to fire with its gauss cannon. Therefore, Roland repeated the procedure, this time killing the ancient xeno.

Although taking heavy casualties, the Tau seemed to get away. The remaining infantry jumped onto the hovering vehicles and they set off once again. Roland watched the Shas and his twin-battlesuit make some huge leaps, disabling a destroyer each time. The slower battlesuits started to fall due to the concentrated fire, and the last pilot jumped from his suit and made a run to the vehicles.

Roland heard a collaborative cheer in the Tau tongue, making him look around. Every soldier who was clenching the smooth shapes of the transport for dear life, had started to shout. Following their gaze, he saw a long line of hovering tanks appear on the horizon.

Their relief quickly vanished when the ground between them and the main force started shifting. A hill rose up in front of them and when the chunks of earth rolled down from it, a huge monolith revealed itself. Roland felt the four vehicles make an evasive manoeuvre, but he knew it would be futile.

From the top of the pyramid-shaped monstrosity, a green arc of light whipped between the hovercrafts. One tank exploded instantly, and the other got immobilised. Then the Shas and his friend landed next to the transports, their jetpacks glowing white-hot.

Re: Warhammer roleplay: A new beginning

"May the greater good save us! Dol'elroeen! Take as many as you can and lets get out of here, we have no hope of surviving this!" Shas'Ka said as what remained of a flayed one splattered over the battlesuit. The Devlish expended all its rockets and anyone able jumped on it holding on to whatever they could.

Shas'Ka cursed himself. "Miscalculated the speed of the tanks." But this was no time to stop and think, he took Roland standing next to him under his arm and a Firewarrior near him as well then jumped to one that was about to get slashed by one of the hideous creatures and crushed the beast under his heavy feet.

"HOLD ON TO MY BACK! He shouted, although it was pointless, the Necrons barley made a sound except their constant footsteps and slight hissing sounds. The soldier leaped with all might as high as he could, trying to avoid the jet engines which roared into action as soon as he grabbed hold."

Tau warriors were falling left and right and Shas'Ka once again dammed himself. get in, get out. That was his objective, oh how he horribly failed. The Devlish transport barely avoided the main gun of the monolith and careened by its side but gaus fire from other Necrons managed to pick three off the back of the vehicle before they got further away.

Shas'Ka jumped, and jumped again, the engines roaring at full speed but the increased weight slowed down the suit considerably. Shas'Ka realized the one on his back would not be able to handle the G-forces and opted to change his location with Rolands who was much sturdier build but before he could the Firewarriors hands slipped from the suits neck and he fell to the ground just before they landed. Shas'Ka turned his body around and was about to return but the Firewarrior was gone. The monoliths main weapon had blasted away any trace of him. Pieces of earth rained down upon them.

Inside the bulky suit, a lonly tear trickled from the warriors face.

Re: Warhammer roleplay: A new beginning

Physically and mentally exhausted, Roland collapsed to the ground once the Shas finished his last jump. Beside him, the sole surviving transport halted and only a dozen soldiers jumped from its hull. The first line of tanks hovered past, safe one command vehicle, that stopped before them. The shas gave the tank-commander some instructions before turning to watch the onslaught. Roland joined the two battlesuits.

While a line of support vehicles came past, the three men watched the necrons crawl around the smoking wreckages of three vehicles in the distance. No sign of resistance. No sign of life.

A transport dropped off some medics and a small infantry squad. The sergeant watched how his surviving men were treated and the infantry started marking a target in the distance. Behind them, tanks with long missile-racks opened fire, setting the monolith ablaze. The monstrosity kept hovering forward, covered in blue flames, and was being hammered by the tanks and barraged by diving aircraft.

The tank line had halted, where after soldiers and battlesuits took up position between them. Roland looked behind him when hearing a familiar engine sound. Imperial basilisks stopped next to the Tau artillery, and lemans rolled past to strengthen the front line.

He awoke between clean, light blue sheets. To his left, a row of similar beds stretched out, all occupied by peaceful men. He got up and walked to a curved wall, so he could look through a round window. Outside, a grey cityscape lurked depressingly. Turning around, his gaze fell upon the man in the bed closest to him.

Re: Warhammer roleplay: A new beginning

Five humans and six Tau stood together in an armoury. Although they were about to conduct a high-risk infiltration mission together, no-one talked: they were all highly focused on their gear.

The storm troopers had finished painting their carapace black, in order to be better camouflaged during night-time. Three of them re-assembled their hellguns after a thorough check, while another examined his newly-given plasmagun, and yet another sheathed his silenced boltpistol.

Four Tau were busy helping each other into their XV25 stealth suites with attached burst cannons, while the other two wore black pathfinder suits. After one of those pathfinders had taken his sniper rifle out of its casing, a Tau in a stealth suite reported to Roland.

With a never expected degree of cooperation, the humans, kroot and tau advanced silently through the pitch black forest. The storm troopers took the lead, looking out for man-made traps like trip-wires, detectors and mines. Pathfinders and XV25

Re: Warhammer roleplay: A new beginning

Two kroot jumped from a window and landed noiselessly on the street. They quickly leapt into the shadows, after which one of them walked up to Roland and raised an arm. The severed head of Du Lacques dangled from his hand, still dripping blood. Somewhat astonished, Roland raised his thumb and whispered in his comm. unit:
