don't play that where you'll be overheard
"good, you noticed what i was pointing at! the word "improved"!"
Please show me where and how you were indicating that.
"now, mr. Cugnot is usually credited for first automobile. so does that make the fellow who put motorised window opening to cars a great inventor? he made an improved car!"
No, he made a motorised window, not an improved car. What strange logic you use.
"with your logic, it would seem so. sounds bloody ridiculous, though."
No, with my logic he made a motorised window, not an improved car.
"looks like you're getting desperate to defend kaffers' inability at scientific method."
The only desperation I see is yours. I'm willing to bet others see this too.
"but do entertain me! as you clearly showed, kaffers are able to make street sweepers (unless they accidentally listed its profession instead of invention) and work on other people's inventions."
And invent their own inventions, like security systems and mass spectrometers and smoke alarms and all after a mere 5 minutes of work...
"could you find me an african kaffer who has ever invented anything significant? i understand if you don't want to. you probably have a very clever exc.. reason too."
Significant like Universities, Written Language, Stone Achitecture, Mathematics, Paper, Batteries, Lightbulbs, Gunpowder, Medicine?
The fact is you have already decided that Black People have not, and can not, contribute in any way to society, and you have already proven that in the face of great inventions, inventions that made the world what it is today, created by black people will be ignored in favour of belittling their work, no matter how revolutionary, via some idiotic word game.
Now if you can promise that you will not do such a thing again then I will play your patheitc game, otherwise we both know where we stand.
"Please show me where and how you were indicating that."
it's the bit that says "so it invented the electrical resistor, is that what you're saying? no, sorry. that was Georg Ohm. here's a picture:"
"No, he made a motorised window, not an improved car. What strange logic you use."
your logic. fine, bad example. but in your estimation, working on something that has already been invented makes you a great inventor?
"And invent their own inventions, like security systems and mass spectrometers and smoke alarms and all after a mere 5 minutes of work..."
hehe. that's a good one. you might want to start by checking smoke alarm's actual inventor, for example.
"Significant like Universities, Written Language, Stone Achitecture, Mathematics, Paper, Batteries, Lightbulbs, Gunpowder, Medicine?"
names, please? the inventors?
"The fact is you have already decided that Black People have not, and can not, contribute in any way to society"
curious. i did not say that. as a response to nolio's post i said nearly the opposite. stop projecting your feelings on me. kaffers can and do contribute to the society, regardless of how you might feel about them.
"and you have already proven that in the face of great inventions, inventions that made the world what it is today, created by black people"
are you speaking of the lawnmower now?
"Now if you can promise that you will not do such a thing again then I will play your patheitc game, otherwise we both know where we stand."
is it really that terrible a thought? that africans are by nature less capable of scientific advancement than normal people? you might want to check the picture i posted in this thread to understand what i mean.
now, if you promise to think about the reason why europe and northern america are rich and wellbeing places and africa is not, we can move on.
i'll even give you a hint regarding the reason. it's "the p**ple living in it." fill in the star marked areas.
He invented music

what's with people and filling in stars and x's >.<
i dont understand how it doesnt matter how long ago a ppl were oppressed, but how at the same time it does matter how long ago they were inventing stuff relevant to a certain part of the world at a certain time o_O ?
East Asia was screwed over during the colonisation era and even now it's still in recovery somewhat.
Decimus I think you need to take the following online tour:
http://library.thinkquest.org/C002739/AfricaSite/1Main.shtm
Careful, suggesting that he is descended from kaffers might upset his poor Finnish ego.
nonsense, sillyhead. i trust in the evolution theory, as i suspect you do as well. it's just basic evolution. all beings evolved from some weird goo swimming around in the oceans. later on, humans evolved from kaffers.
this also explains why the scientists are having trouble with finding the missing link. if they would dare suggest blackies are the missing stage between apes and humans, they'd get lynched by either the scientific community or the kaffer community.
and tavius, i'm well-aware of the blood-covered history of southern african kingdoms. rarely has there been such cruelty and inhumanity in this world.
IA, it's been a while since you did this, don't really feel up to joining the argument though is seems like you made this just for Deci.
Deci, Ignoring almost everything else you said. Stop using the "Improved" computer of the 2000s, go back to the original one invented back in what 1940's or even earlier. There truely isn't any difference is there? If you ever do any work with eletronics you would know how imporotant "stable" resistors are. So sure Ohm may have first described it but if some made an improved resistor it is always appreciated.
why would i stop using the improved computer? i like this one. still, i don't think you'd much appreciate it if someone called steve jobs the inventor of computer.
Why do you say that black people feel that some of their problems stem from the oppression of other cultures even to this day? It's quite simple when you take the time to look at the other side of the coin. You look at me and assume that I'm up to no good or that I'm going to cause trouble or that I'm not capable of carrying on an intellectual discussion about something which most likely doesn't even matter. Yet somehow you feel that the amount of information I've gathered about a historic event(probably written incorrectly) helps to determine my social status. And when I fail to meet your standards, or if another member of the black community fails to meet your standards, then you in turn label the other members in a negative manner and hence threads like this become constructed.
Not very true. I have a black professor, i don't think he's dumb. I have a black friend in my class, i think hes a good guy and trust him. 3 black people came to our school in a very white town, i was the first person he got stoned with (in his life). DIdn't think of him as a druggie or anything like that.
When i go to the states walking in an unfamilair area and see a group of black people in jersies and chains i become uneasy, when i walk downtown toronto and see black men in suits i don't think anything of it.
most of this has to do with perception, not racism. Do you think the way most blacks, the opressed ones give a good image?
kind of like if you see a pitbull on a leash or without a leash, isn't it?
Don't mind Deci he's Finnish. Northeners are by nature racist.
I live just south of Finland and 70% of the people in my country are racist.
like flipmode pointed out. its the way you see them that makes you feel the way you are. if you see a group of black people with chains and huge baggy pants and sagging, you feel uncomfortable and decide to start walking the other way. but when you see some black people in normal clothes or wearing a suit you dont feel anything at all.
am i racist for thinking that? i dont beleive i am racist because i dont feel that my race or anyone elses race is superior to blacks.
You have accociated a group of people wearing something with a type of actions. Thats rasicm to me, I dont care what definition the dictionary gives.
"You have accociated a group of people wearing something with a type of actions. Thats rasicm to me, I dont care what definition the dictionary gives."
Ok I seriously hope you are joking. the root of racism is RACE. If I see people wearing chains and baggy clothes and I feel uncomfortable if anything that's stylism.
Let's use another example, if you saw a group of guys holding baseball bats, who looked capable of doing a severe amount of damage, would you feel less comfortable than you would if those same people were carrying stuffed animals? In most cases yes.
People wearing chains and baggy clothes have chosen, key word CHOSEN, to associate themselves with a certain lifestyle. That lifestyle has a reputation of violence and delinquent behaviour, and on top of that those who are seen as representatives of the lifestyle promote such behaviour. So saying it is unreasonable to feel uncomfortable around those people is like saying it's unreasonable to assume a member of the KKK hates blacks.
This differs entirely from judging by race as it is not the colour of their skin but the lifestyle they chose to represent that makes you uncomfortable. Personally I find racism to be rather stupid. Now I have nothing against hating people, but hating people for something they didn't chose and can't change seems a lot like hating a dog for walking on four legs.
Yea if you were black or any race for that matter and you saw a group of peple in white robes and white masks would you not feel scared or threatened? does that mean you hate white people because you feel that way around them?
there's shops called kkk-markets over here and black folks don't seem to be scared to go in them ![]()
haha!!:D
