I know you can't freestyle something you type, but that's close... If you like rap, I got some tracks on the myspace... and [OMG] you all who dont like myspace, it's a great way for unknown talent to be heard.

I'd disagree with the usage of the word "talent" there in respect to myspace...

Re: SocietyHipHop

And Psychogenesis is probably one of those guys who has all kinds of talent but never had any friends tongue lol... so we know why you dont like myspace.   I'm an army brat, I've lived all over the world, so since myspace came out it has been a way for me to re-unite with all the friends I lost touch with over the years... I understand why you wouldn't like it though... dork tongue

oh.,... this would've been my favorite thread, but no one else seems to agree... I understand most of us aren't fans of hip-hop

Re: SocietyHipHop

I like the fact that in frech they say ip-op.

To add to that, whats the deal with a french having two h's but pronouncing none?

Not many people know this, but I own the first radio in Springfield. Not much on the air then, just Edison reciting the alphabet over and over. "A" he'd say; then "B." "C" would usually follow...

Re: SocietyHipHop

I haven't seen much actual discussion about Hip Hop in here to be honest tongue
I was waiting for a nice moment to talk in here, but all that happened are myspace links or insults as far as I read tongue

Re: SocietyHipHop

so Lloyd whats up playa, whats on your mind to discuss? mine is the fact hiphop is more than music -rap, jazz, soul, funk, and what- country now? but on this note wink rap & country music hybrid- who would've guessed! i was shocked at first but sneakingly like it.

on another subject- so hiphop is worldwide. surprised me at first. and for it to be mainstream in usa is a topper which fills me heart with gladness. to me it means there is a "melting pot affect"...that dreams really caan and time to time do come true. to me it is hope for our future- although i'd like to see more accurate representations in the international zone via our media. it shocked me to be in japan to see "Public Enemy" logos on my jean jacketed nippionese wink peeps

Where have you been lately? tongue
It's gotten worldwide quite fast (and it's no surprise, most genres are) and it's mainstream in many parts of the world as well wink
Granted, less here in Belgium cause we still have that singer/songwriter and rock bands history that remains strong.

We do have a few Hip Hop artists that would conquer your USA-artists in my opinion, if only they got the chance big_smile

Immortal technique my favourtie rapper what a rapper he is! Underground meaning he wont sign for a label because he wants to rap about his own things, mostly about how corrupted the us government is..

Anyhoo might aas well freeestyle tongue

Re: SocietyHipHop

i pay attention to lyrics also. its the main draw for me as a freestyle artist, but i must admit a dope beat makes me freak if only to rap over another's [sheet] wink

and yeah ive known its spread (rap) for awhile but at that time it shocked me cause so little is said of it (:O conspiracy!!! big_smile)
so waht do belgien artists rap about? politics ie "Public Enemy, Paris, KRS-1"? big rims, chains- no spitting and garglin, Wheezy? (couldnt resist- just so dmn nasty & im a badboy with a filthy mind lol

Re: SocietyHipHop

Several things of course, but rarely politics tongue
Also a nice song was Kaye Styles' "Prison Break Anthem" which was the series' theme song here in Belgium. Never watched the series, but liked the song tongue

Re: SocietyHipHop

Okay, so lyrically who would you all say the best rapper is?  I'm really thinking Jay-Z or Nas would take the cake, as far as living rappers.  The fact is though most styles these days base themselves off Biggie Smalls or Tupac, or a mixture of the two.  If you listen to what they say it's the same things Biggie was talking about in Mo Money Mo Problems, or Pac was saying in  Thug Luv with Bone.

But who would you say the most lyrical rapper is?
