Once again rumours spread the castle that another traitor had been investigated. However considering last night's events the castle was not so sure if they could trust these rumours any more. However they seemed to hope that they had made the right call and so the voting against Eltara started.

Meanwhile Eltara witnessed this process and like ZoZ he also had the opportunity to spend a few last moments. He paced around on the roof, over thinking his options. Suicide had crossed his mind, but it felt such a weak way out. "What about escaping" he thought to himself.
He returned to his chambers to grab some of his travelling gear. Some food, clothes and a thick rope to descent from the wall. He sneaked out of the main castle and started running towards one of the castle walls. He would climb over and just run away from this place, he would be far away before anyone would notice he was gone.

Meanwhile the clock had struck 12.30 and lynching time was already a half hour overdue, but Eltara was no where to be found. The whole castle started a big search and no inch of the castle was left unsearched.

Finally somebody started to shout: "Hey I found something". The other residents looked up as someone was standing on the wall pointing down. The residents gathered on top of the wall and looked down and there lay Eltara, his rope had snapped as he had tried to go down and he had broken his neck upon impact.

The castle residents cheered, again a traitor had been caught. Just four more to go...

"Quick! Someone's coming!" the person whispered alarmingly. "We've got to go!"
"No! I'm not done yet..." the other person replied.
"But I can hear footsteps... come on or we'll get caught!"

The traitor hesitated but eventually dropped the nail and disappeared into the shadows.

"Who's there?" came a voice. Faint light was slowly lighting up the room as the person approached. A moment later the candle had been dropped and was rolling across the stone tiles of the church floor.

An hour earlier....

Undeath picked up his gloves and placed them over his hands. He had only bought them a few days previously and they felt warm against his skin. Although it was already nightfall, he had decided to go for a run in the castle gardens. It was a public place after all, what was the worst that could happen? In any case, he took the silver letter open from his desk and put it in his pocket.

Stepping out into the cold night's air, he took in a long and deep breath before starting a medium paced jog down the path which led through the roses bushes, past the blossum trees and ended up at the lilly pond. He had planned to run down to the church at the far end of the garden and then make his way back.

After running through the pink and white blossom trees, he quickened his pace as he started to hear footsteps behind him. The footsteps also quickened their pace and he looked over his shoulder to steal a glance at who was following him. A man was running after him. He could not tell who it was but started to sprint around the lilly pond and headed for the church doors.

He pushed them and he let himself in quickly. It was dark but he could see the rows upon rows of pews which lined the centre of the building, leading up the front of the church, where a giant crucifix stood tall. Breathing heavily, he tried to find a place to hide from the person who was following him but didn't realise there was a second person waiting for him inside the church.

The wooden post connected with the back of his head after just one swing and Undeath fell to the ground with a thud.

Thirty minutes later....

The cleric dropped the candle and immediately ran forwards towards the front of the church. The 6ft tall wooden crucifix which stood beside the lectern had been abused. Undeath had been attached to the centre with rope tied tightly around his waist. His head was leaning forward and there was a large cut along the top of his forehead, but that was not the wound which caused the cleric most distress. His left hand had been outstretched along the full length of top of the crucifix, pinned to the end using what looked like a large nail of some sort. Blood dripped heavily from the wound. His other arm was still beside his body.

The cleric reached Undeath and noticed a number of large nails lying on the floor, together with a mallet.

"Don't worry, I'm here! The Lord is watching over you and you'll be protected here in his house. You are his Jesus tonight" the cleric said whilst trying to remove the nail from his hand.
