Topic: [Credit Crunch] Has it affected you?

The doomsayers are predicting an 85% loss of jobs in "the city" (London to us normal folk), the government is now panicking about DE-flation, but judging by the local happenings (Nottinghamshire) I have to say that they are absolutely, positively, unquestionably... right.

Yesterday your beloved unemployable Fokker spent thirty minutes waiting in line at the Job Centre to "sign on", something that normally takes less than thirty seconds.
Why was this so, I hear the slow ones ask. Because it was rammed solid with people, and not just the usual Chavs, single mothers, junkies, nut-jobs, work-shy, and general unemployable scum, but "useful people" like administrators, shop workers, builders, shop fitters, etc.
Then Fokker went shopping. Fokker even braved the local shopping centre, a badly designed brown and tan relic from the 1970s, which is very unusual for Fokker as Fokker dislikes crowds, screaming children, playing children, screaming couples, playing couples, close proximity to anything living, and having to shuffle around people who will inevitably step back, bumping their fat, saggy, too warm arses into my crotch.
The place was dead, the most populous shop being the coffee shop all of the Old Age Pensioners use as a social hub.
Crime has gone down. Shoplifting in particular has dropped, but only because the shoplifters dont have any way of hiding now. Violent crime is down too, but only because people can't afford to get rolling drunk any more.
The only working friend I have... the only friend I have has just been forced to take a paycut or be fired.

The local drug of choice is now Cannabis Resin rather than old fasioned Weed because the price of weed has doubled because bad economy means less shipping and less shipping means it's harder to get the stuff into the country (Although what makes these idiots rely on imports rather than grow it themselves is beyond me).

Hmm... I think that covers it... What's going on around you?

"So, it's defeat for you, is it? Someday I must meet a similar fate..."

Re: [Credit Crunch] Has it affected you?

Nothing!

Unemployment in men has risen by 3% more then last year but women are still not affected by it. We still have the lowest unemployment since ever.

Not many people know this, but I own the first radio in Springfield. Not much on the air then, just Edison reciting the alphabet over and over. "A" he'd say; then "B." "C" would usually follow...

Re: [Credit Crunch] Has it affected you?

For germany.. next week we will have the lowest unemployment rate since 1992.. will be under 3 million again.
mayb change in the upcoming month though.

Consume is not really suffering yet.. everyone is pretty surprised about it though..
Christmas buisness is expected to be as usual.

Weedprices are stable because the netherlands are close and as i heard most weed sold in the netherlands is grown in germany anyways.

Re: [Credit Crunch] Has it affected you?

The City does not mean London. The City is the name of the financial district of London.

The so called credit crunch has had no effect on me so far. Hopefully if house prices fall more though I might actually be able to afford one in a couple of years time. That would be nice.

Re: [Credit Crunch] Has it affected you?

Re: [Credit Crunch] Has it affected you?

I'm currently Unemployed, and find it VERY hard to find reemployment despite a very powerful resume, and excellent interviews, there is just too many people competing for too little jobs, I'm considering going back into the Military for Money to go to the Police Academy and become a Cop, i have $26,000USD From my G.I. Bill, but it's impossible for me to get approved for student loans.. so Military (Reserves), looks like my best bet to pay for my schooling.

Re: [Credit Crunch] Has it affected you?

hasnt effected me, im a hard worker and would be one of the last people to ever get laid off at work. i am saving money though because my dad is an electrical engineer for visteon (car parts company) and visteon is laying off alot of people, if he looses his job, i might have to help support him and my mom for a year and a half until my mom finishes graduate school, and as a PA should be able to easily find a job in any economy and make a salary that where they could easily pay me back.

it does mean i dont be buying a new monitor or TV despite prices for LCD's plummeting sad

Re: [Credit Crunch] Has it affected you?

you're a PA? thats awesome, physicians assistant, or as i sometimes call them at the office, probably adequates
