There was a distinct joyous air amongst the castle citizens as they went their separate ways following the lynching of the Sorcerer of Illusions today. The shock from last night's discovery of Genesis' body had already faded away by the time voting had started. They couldn't believe their luck. Two of the powerful dark wizards had been removed and now it was time to remove their followers. Five traitors still remained, eagre to finish the job the Sorcerer of Illusions had started.
And he certainly did start the job... After his death, two of the traitors rifled through his chambers and found something very intriguing. Lying at the bottom of his oak wardrobe lay an old patchwork doll. He picked it up and squeezed it gently. Similar to any doll a child would have, it was made of cotton with 2 black beads for eyes and dressed head to toe in matching clothes.
The traitor held it upright to show his friend. "Hey! See what I found! It seems our master had a thing for stuffed toys!" he said as he took one of the doll's arms and moved it up and down in a vigorous waving motion. "Hewwo! My name's Dolly! Look, I can wrap my arm all the way around my head!" and he demonstrated.
"ARRRRRRRRRRRRGH!" a scream came ringing into the chamber. One of the traitors quickly rushed towards the window and looked out into the courtyard. Many people were still hanging around from earlier. He located the source of the scream and motioned urgently for the other traitor to take a look.
Standing beside several rose bushes with a couple of other people stood a king's subject. He was standing there innocently talking with his friends when his arm suddenly started waving vigorously out of his control and then began to wrap itself around his head. He was unable to control the action and heard his bones snap as they resisted. He screamed out loud.
"Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" a traitor asked looking down at the doll in his hands. He took the doll and placed it on top of the Sorcerer of Illusions' desk, making it walk a very comical walk. Looking outside, the king's subject was doing the exact same walk. The traitors laughed as they made the doll do the splits, spreading each leg out straight and in the direct opposite direction to the other.
The man outside screamed once more as he felt the muscles in his thighs tear like tissue paper when his legs were forced into the splits position. He was in total pain when he was forced once again into the upright position. A crowd had formed around him, dismayed at what was happening in front of their eyes. It was like watching a sick circus act. A number of people ran out of the courtyard to find help.
Inside the chamber, the traitors had finished having fun. It was time for business. "Pass me that feather quill and give me your knife, will you?" He took the quill and aimed the point at one of the doll's eyes. He stabbed it in firmly and twisted. As he did so, numerous screams erupted from the courtyard coming from both the victim and the onlookers.
The traitor then placed the quill on the desk and grabbed the knife. Putting the jagged blade against the cotton seams which made up the joint between the upper torso and lower body, he began to cut slowly. The painful screams from outside even made him wince as he detached the doll into two pieces.
With neither of them daring to look outside and see for themselves the cause of the screams which had now turned to sobs, they each took a body half. Turning them around in their hands, the traitors noticed that they were dripping with real blood.
"Hey, what's this?" one said as he noticed a label sewn onto the back shoulder blade of the doll. He looked at it in closer detail and saw that it read a name... jesnt.
