Do you or do you not agree that NAP breaking is an issue that needs to be resolved?  Why are you fighting against the fact that something is wrong (in general) and that it needs to be fixed?

Take the war yelling somewhere else - because regardless of your justification, you broke a NAP, you had a NAP broken on you. A week ago you would have agreed completely with his statements, and now you're taking them personally instead of saying "actually, you're right, NAP breaking sucks and needs to be fixed"

Back on track:
NAP breaking sucks, and could very easily be fixed.

In game function to set length of NAP (type in the hours, type in the family, click "make NAP"), when NAP is cancelled on relations, it remains for that amount of hours (heck, you could even have a countdown on relations).
For core clearing, perhaps allow attacks within 12 ticks (big core, but meh) of each family's own home system even with a NAP in place.

Is that so hard?

I think something can be done, but we have the wrong mods to do it.

There should definitely be some honor system and I think it's up to the players to form one but it would be difficult to manage due to the factthat say the top 6 fams have a board of honor and 2 of the fams want to war 2 of the other fams.. but then there's a nap break... the top fams can't just stop their war to get position and make the nap breaker's life hell. Need to get creative with this obviousl, but something needs to be done.

As far as 1431 goes, I nkow that my fam was in a full fledged war against 1432 and 1445. Basically I was just raiding 1432 and destroying all infra and 1445 was retaking. (I was 10+ ticks away so not much else I could do since they wanted to both war us). 1431 decided to war 1432 as well so I can see where people think 1431 is vulturing and yea... 1432 had outposts and 1431 decided to not only take those but war as well while they were in a full-fledged war with them already which is pretty low. I am sure they are not the only ones who have done that though. Nap-breaking is a much more bigger issue and though both of these have to do with honor, I think we need something effective for next round for nap breaks.

Naps are meant for non-aggression, yes. But tell me why we have 48, 72, 96, etc. hour Naps and then we also have P-Naps?? Obviously if someone is not offering you a PNap, then they have plans to war later in the round... I don't think there is anything wrong with making naps to war later. After all you can only fight so many fams at once.

I thought you were more of a resourcer that roiund I know you helped a tad but love and myself did the brute fighting all round Can't even count how much slep I lost protecting the fam and getting us up from 25 to top 10. That was definitely a fam effort. I know love lost lots of sleep and glad he joined us mid round and fam busted it's tail. We warrd like 80% of the fams, literally warred that is... We were very small that round in the beginning but as listos said, we got #1 fam (zidi's fam #16) to nap and we got #17 fam, portgas's fam to nap plus #19 nolio, gary and others. The top 3 fams until at least halfway through the round and we got naps with all of them without any comp. So just cuz you're small, doesn't mean you just bend over and take it... You fight back and keep your core clean and you shouldn't have to worry about farming.

With that said, lately I don't really think farming is "that bad". If you can get planets, then you might as well get them. Now... typically a fam will take about 15% of another fam's planet in a war, don't really see more than that normally. The main reason smaller fam's get farmed though is because they let bigger fams get in their core thinking... "hey we're too small to be attacked." That's the wrong attitude... it's extremely easy to keep your core clean of big fams. If things are that bad for your fam, then offer the bigger fam planets for nap. In this case, you better be willing to give at least 10% of your planets for a nap, but look at it this way... You explore them 10% of your current planet count and move on, or you let them raid you and destroy infra on 30% of your planets while you retake and then they raid more and destroy more infra... I think you can see where this is going.

I don't think I commented on everything I wanted to but I am at uni and got lots of work to do but this thread was intriguing. I am simply giving my opinion on stuff and not everything I say may be thought as true, but as I said... It's my opinion.

And let it be known - i'd prefer a "call NAP off" function for 5 ticks for core clearance - but that seems like it might be too hard to institute for people

raspoetin, the fam died when i was playing that rnd...and so what if i did go inactive and delete after that??at least i know jolly well wads a nap break...unlike u who is trying to cover up ur nap break...
