1) Proudest thing that John Winston Howard did in his years as PM (And the best thing that I think he did) was gun control. What do you need it for anyway? When he was touring the US last year (In the South too), someone asked him that question, and you could apparently hear crickets after his reply.

1.....the Right to bear arms is in the US Constitution.  The right to assemble w/those arms is also covered.  Its the peoples right over a govt.
If you miss the basic of freedoms.....then you missed it.   People kill people....not guns.

2....Roe v. Wade is the landmark Supreme Court ruling by an activist legislative ruling that TOTALLY bypassed the way laws are written in the US.
Its one of the flaws the US has in its constitution, and is very difficult to overturn once the Supreme Court makes it a ruling.
Roe Legalized Abortion in the first tri-mester for all of America.  It bypassed the authority of the states and local govts. 

3.  Kick out the UN HQ in NYC, and send it packing.  I give a SHIT less what the world thinks of the US.

The church and state are separate Primo.  There are no Religious mandates, but a preacher can run for elected office.
There is no church run govts, but a parrish or church group can petition the local govt.
In a Christian or MUSLIM or HINDU community, they can sure express their religious symbols at the local town hall....thats hardly letting religion run amok.

Primo what IS in our constitution is a strict guarantee that the US government shall never, ever, ever, default on a US government debt.   The current constitution drafted in 1797 was a fluke; the convention was called to reform a government that couldn't float a stable dollar.  Their reaction was to scrap the government and start over.  For 225 years we have kept the faith.  It's kept us afloat since 1973, rolling over and exporting our debt with short-term Treasury bonds.  they're guaranteed.  we have to borrow to pay off the old notes, but they're paid in full and on time.  It's in our constitution.

in 25 years about 1/3 of the US population will be above the current retirement age, the age where the government starts paying out that 7.5% Social Security tax withheld from every paycheck, which we expect and require! will support the house and the two cars and cable and internet and probably holosex by then, season tickets and a couple of thousand mile road trips a year in a camper... the $$ will not be there, everybody knows it, and what nobody talks about is the $1 trillion a year in interest on those foriegn-owned Treasury bills we'll be paying out...
