Bloody Iowans.
*sigh* now its time to wipe the tears from my eyes and stand up straight and salute that man. even though i do not agree with that man he will be my leader and i will give him the respect he deserves.
No, it wasnt Jesse on Stage, I saw him crying in the crowd.
On stage, CNN cut away, so did FOX....I couls SWEAR that was Rev. wright.
Man, if it was....holy shit.
I will say this, Obama can deliver a speach. He may make slick Willy look like a light weight.
yeah great speach
McCain's was very gracious by the way. He's definately not the sore loser type.
pff 6.30 am, think i wont miss much of the circus if i go to bed now ![]()
Yes we can, it's time for us to join holds and bring this nation to it's true self. United we stand and i think that was proven in this amazing run to the white house. To be honest that whole speech, the look in peoples eyes, the whole experience really opened my eyes to alot of things ... yes we can
~ Cloud
Americans can do anything they set their minds to. I hope that Obama holds onto the high road because God knows the republican wont be able to keep it up for very long. If Obama becomes the example he says he will be then it will be a good four years. Perhaps that core conservative value will influence him more than just appearance.
Brett Hume just had a great Summation about the entire election season.
If it ever gets on You Tube, I suggest people watch it. .... Simply Brilliant.
McCain, WITH OUT A DOUBT the super underdog, ran a hell of a campaign.
I think, I thought it wouldnt, but I think the financial collapse did him him.
It looks like that was the last nail in the coffin, and OBAMA nailed it in, but making the last Bush/McCain link w/the collapse.
For all of you that thought PALIN was a poor pick....you are wrong.
1. McCain/Palin polled better than the House/Senate tickets did on the national level.
2. Palin will be a force to deal with in the next four years.....IF....the Repubs groom her for a run.
the applause/support she receives, and the attacks from the liberal media solidifies here rock star image.
man.....Im exhausted. What a long campaign this was.
Are capital gains going up to 27% now?
lol
no no..i'm not going to brag for the next 4 years
only the news few weeks..and anytime, someone questions me again ![]()
anyways TMK, alaska was white, cuz the polls hadn't closed
and what sums up today for me is Indiana, the fact that the redest
state on the map, the first one closing, couldn't pick McCain...speaks VOLUMES!!!!!
anyways i have to be honest i kept on saying for the past week, that nothing is guna get done
but this speech by obama has restored my belief (this sounds soo cheesy) ![]()
but yeah, ONE OF THE THE THE BEST speeches I HAVE EVER heard in my life
it was right down to the point
NO QUESTIONS and no can argue that
what stood out for me was that unlike other politicians who say I will do this ..i will do that
he said We will, you can, we can
amazing guy, and he really will make america better
and for you right-wingers
sleep in peace, cuz he will be a president for all
because every race, gender, age group, party affiliation or no party affiliation got him there
338 to 159 i think... EVERY ONE HAD A PART TO PLAY -- EVERYONE
and he has shown to be the man, who will respect that
CHANGE WILL COME
and YES WE DID! ![]()
EDIT: BTW, even though i was angry with mccain campaign, he will finally back to himself, the person i can agree with half the times
yaayyy no more lies
![]()
but one last thing, some dude on CNN brought this point up, obama has studied Reagan a lot, he realizes what he did for america, and if anything obama will be the next Reagan, he will bring in republicans and democrats, i don't care what you guys see, but i know he's not the type to just do everything he wants and not listen to other advisors, and you could see that in his speech and his campaign
and did anyone catch him stalling his tearing? you could see him, he was about to break out into tears... i can imagine what he would be going through, knowing his grandma just had to push one more day...
oh GOD don't remind me justinian :'( the taxes. now i remember where i put all that contempt for Obama
nice usage of words there. last nail to mccain's coffin
but true, mccain ran a hell of a losing campaign
lol Soth.
In truth, I could at least tolerate Obama if he won't raise capital gains.
With further thoughts, there is still a chance Bush won't resign from office, and the military will back him.
Small chance. But one I won't dismiss yet.
as someone already said - welcome back america... ![]()
btw, gladiator i always thought u were canadian... ^^
He lives in Canada, but is an American citizen. I think he's going to school there or something.
congratulations President and new Leader of the Free World Obama.
after the Bush II vs Gore election i never thought that the banana republic USA would ever gain my respect as a democracy back. but change is possible.
@BW
germany is ruled by a woman (chancellor Angela Merkel, Christian Democratic Party) from former communist east-germany for 3 years now. that is a great success in the process of unification in germany. it took the german voters only 15 years to accept that. it took the US more than 232 years to elect Obama as leader of the executive.
Balckwing.. why should germany for example vote a black person as chanceloor? we hardly have any black people living in germany..
better ask when we wil have the first turkish person as chancellor...
therefor... we have a female chancellor since 2005... now i ask you what is worse...lol
but congratulations to Obama. I hope he will and can do a good job without too much opposition from his own people. and i very much hope he wont be shot before he actually goes into office.
All of those who are sceptical towards him should try to let down the bad feeligns and just give him a chance. He can not really be worse then Bush was:)

My country has spoken, I dont agree w/his policies, I think the US is going down a dangerous path of a bloated and doating Federal Govt.
Question....did I just see the Rev. Wright on TV at the obama rally ?.....was that really him on stage ??
Anyone that wants to call America a racist biggoted nation......
Tell me....
When will FRANCE, Germany, the UK, Russia, Italy, Greece....etc....ever vote an African as their Leader ??
Yea...thought so.
Gladiator...... I didnt believe Obama would win. He did. Relax....I dont know if you actually know what you are celebrating......

Agreed, dangerous path indeed, he is the new Leader and Commander n' Chief of the Nation i will support him, and hope he brings about this so called "change", but I'll remain skeptical.
I would have loved for obama to be a full black not a half black wannabe. hes not even black so this really isnt historic at all...
ladies and gentlemen, the first half black half white president of the United states
Ok obviously you haven't learned anything from all of this. Race doesn't matter. He's not trying to lead the black people, he's not trying to lead white people. He's the leader of America. This is historic because it shows how far we've come as a nation and how despite our history, maybe, just maybe America can be united. Maybe its better that he is half and half as you call it. Though find me one person in politics who is fully blooded with one nationality. I'd love to see that =p
The Times, they ara a-changin'!
And "The Mac wasn't back!"
Congratulations America on picking the right candidate!
This thread needs some James Earl Ray.
I just read the speech mckain held yesterday. and he deserves my respect for it.
If all of you follow his example and support your new president as much as you can.. there might be a bright future again for your country.
And it may return to what it once was, the hope and the pride of all western civilisations.
