Apparently this woman had accused a black man of assaulting her, robbing her, and carving a "B" into her face during a robbery. From the story she was at an ATM a 6"4 black male approach her from behind and placed a knife at her neck. He demanded money which she gave, but than because enraged when he saw a McCain bumper sticker on her car and proceeded to beat her and carve a "B" into her face.

The story changed abit this morning, with the addition that the black male also "Sexually Assault" her while she was on the ground, by placing his hand beneath her blouse.

Hmm ... ok the original story seemed kinda fishy, i mean if it were true it would take a really confused and tormented soul to do such a thing .. but isn't out of the realm of possibility. Now when they added the "Sexual Assault" to it, it kinda made no sense to me. Since when does someone rob someone on the street (not and ally, parking lot, or somewhere less secluded) than proceed to basically fondle a womens private parts when they can clearly be seen? Also if their intentions were to get cash, why do that?

At first it just sounded like made up stuff to try to put another black male behind bars for countless number of years, but than she says it was all made up ... how disturbing.

Obviously she notices that McCain is losing, and losing control of himself aswell and needed some additional help. What better way to sway votes than to say a "black male" assaulted you and carved a "B" into your face (clearing to mean Barrack) disturbing and really i dont want to thing about it anymore, it's funny how racist the city i live in (Pittsburgh) is ...

Got to hand it to Fox News, they were trhe only ones to pick up the first story and put it front page on website (surprisingly..), but they also did report the hoax, at least front page.

I mean I for one was surprised.

it was in the past that the media was liberal, but then came fox and cnn to really be absent minded bias.
i mean we all knew to take the media with a grain of salt, but once we have conservative bias politics in the media... we had to eat the whole truck load.

? I'm confused by BC Cougar's post. We have the numbers who viewers of all the networks, and, with the exception of fox (39% republican 33% democrat) they're all VERY democrat/liberal/socialist leaning.

There's no debate. The statistics do not lie. The majority of the media is still VERY liberal. Something like 80% of reporters/staffers are still democrat, all broadcast media considered.

Spoken like someone who truely has no idea what's going on.

That most of Europe has given in to socialist pansies and your economies have been sucking nuts for it doesn't mean that the change in Amerika isn't on the verge of starting that same process in a few days. Those of us who don't have our heads in the sand aren't going to celebrate as our economies sink as low as yours.

Indeed.

But it does raise an interesting scenario which makes me think of Zipang, so I'll recommend that to you.
Zipang is a Manga, and as much as I hate this type of "book", I was really blown away by the depth and interest of that one.

It takes the story of "Nimitz: The Final Countdown" and twists it as a Japanese self-defense force destroyer going back in time at the point of the Midway battle.

Obviously, Japanese have a complete differente take on the events. First, they became a complete different nation and cannot relate to the Empire anymore. Second, their pledge is to save lives and prevent potential casualties, not to engage in a conflict, even more so when they cannot choose a side.

Everything becomes pretty intricate when they save a japanese officer who has access to the ship's library, sees the "future" ahead and decides to take action.

It's really interesting politics complete with historical accuracy and a lot of brainy "what could have happened if" - from Mao to Hitler, Chandra Bose to Howard Hugues...

I don't know if you can find it in english (don't bother with the anime though), hope so.

Yeah sorry I wasn't clear with the "anime" thing, I meant don't bother watching the animated serie of it, it's only the first and most uninteresting part and it's pretty bad (especially if you're not into anime drawing stuff).
