I would not bother getting in the middle of this debate though, since it has gone too personal already. to return back to one of BW's posts: a bag full of books can be reaaaally heavy. Trust me, it can really smack stuff.
BW insults everyone lol. He has a lot of good points though.
he does have some good points, delivery is the problem.
Mental hospital huh?
Obama supporters gonna throw the opposition into mental hospitals?
Now where have I heard that before, eh comrade?
cuz it's stupid to suggest the american citizens the voters have to be vetted LOL
or did i mis-understand you?
i love Stalin and his 5 year plans, very efficient.
@ 420
OK, Im going to attempt to be civil kid.
You dont know that, according to me, "Elites" are the pompous types, mostly leftists, permeating the Media, Hollywood and universities populated by leftist professors. In the above, im talking about the full assault by the media "elite."
Still, you cherry picked and assumed.
Do you know me 420 ? Or are you seriously asking me ? What I dont like is pompous types.....such as you.
I really dont like full of piss and fire types who think they are better than everyone else.
Me ?? Im a simple guy, with a simple life.
Im also a conservative, and have not a touch of envy or jealousy in my soul.
Im a content individual.....so trust me, good luck to you.
YOU are the one who spouted off your resume. Im just filling it in when I feel it appropriate.
If you REALLY want to know who and what I am, I will gladly tell you. MAYbe. just maybe, we can get off to another step.
As you wrote in another thread, you are shocked I can admit a mistake and apologize.
Why the shock ? How can you POSSIBLY be surprised to see me write an apology? you dont know me.
21 year old, vs. my worldly knowledge ?? Yea, I got you there.
middle aged.....damn...yea I guess thats me.
hehe. Not 14 though....know. I actually thought that was you.....initially.
Im 44 years old. I run marathons, and Tri-Atholons. I love backing packing into the woods for a weekend w/just what I can carry in w/a group of course. Just didnt want you to think I was an old softy, w/ a big gut..... ![]()
Have I left the country...hehe....you really want to know ?
tell me ? have you finished your degree in law ?? started your graduate work yet ?? what area of law ??
Any intern work yet in your area of work ?
paralegal work in the summer ??
What is your minor in ??
if my memory serves which is absolutely horrid. Blackwing used to be in the military. i think it was the army. has seen plenty of action and has visited many different areas across the world. but i could be wrong.
More that is what he has told us has happened...
BW hates the fact that there are people out there smarter than him and people who think differently... BW is a true american in the sense he thinks of himself and himself only... what is best for me...
wait now you care? we may need a whole new thread for this. i didn't spout off my resume hombre, you said i was 14 based on not too terribly much and i thought i'd correct you. we both assumed, we were both wrong, thats generally how assumptions go. you love backpacking into the woods with what you're carrying? that's freaking awesome (this is serious now, i promise) i do the same thing almost every weekend (i also love to kayak) as i live not half an hour from the Adirondack mountains, i live for it. i hate people, i love the woods. i also tend to stand my ground against people who spout off things i believe to be ignorant or untrue, much like you, but we obviously think very differently. had you have been civil from the beginning this would have been a hell of a lot easier, not a mud flinging contest. you're obviously not an idiot and i do not honestly think you one, just as i would hope you do not think me one. you worked hard to get where you are i'm sure and so did i, no silver spoon, no trust funds, no rich mommy and daddy, just me doing my thing. as far as worldly knowledge, you may have me in time, but i make up a hell of a lot in experience. i've been to every continent on earth, lived in a dozen countries and speak both german and english equally well, along with a bit of french and russian. i dont want to go into school because you already made it very clear that you dont care so i wont pretend you do.
if you want to have intelligent discourse i'm more than happy to participate, but if it comes down to one person saying how extremely awesome they are and how they know more than everyone here, that's not discourse, thats just being obnoxious.
and just to be perfectly clear, im not politically left or right, republican or democrat. i think politics today has degraded to something quite pitiful, a spectacle that never tackles issues and never helps those who really matter. i like issues, i could care less about the red team blue team garbage that goes on in this country today, it detracts from what's really going on.
civility accepted.

So do you and every person on the planet.
No the British have always thought of community first, look at the bloody Empire! hardly the acts of selfish rotters, what?
@ 420 you see ? There is a person there.
Actually, in my pointed and blunt way, I was giving you sound advice.....you got off to a very bad start.
It was not I. but, I think you are learning.
I do have an interest in your education. Im not a fan at all of acedemia....that is for sure.
But, I have a double major. Economics (Micro) and History (western, and economic history w/a focus on the economics of slavery).
I have been to quite few places myself. 6 years in the military, a Gulf War I vet with the 2nd ACR. Mech Infantry.
Im a small business owner, father of two very smart children .... thank God, because my wife and I are Constantly on our children to over achieve.
No silver spoon here. No trust funds. hard work since I was a young teen, a tough life on the streets of Brooklyn, Avoided a bad life by going to the military,....saved the GI bill, got out, worked my ass off through college. Met my wife in my Junior year, had my first child soon there after.
I have worked hard for why I have,....and am sorry to see my country slip into a Euro-Style socialist state of stagnation and slip farther away from our Judeo-Christian core that is the basis of our country.
Truthfully, I dont like slip and fall attorneys. I hope you are more of the corporate type.
I figure...maybe....w/the language skills, you might be going that way ?
i'm a double major too, history is right next to law....how odd. i would never be a slip and fall attorney, i hate corporations, they're abominations, no body to incarcerate and no soul to save. if anything i would fight against them. more likely i will end up working in the prison system or for the military. my grandfather was in the marine corp, vietnam vet, most probably i'll end up taking that path as well. and while i may detest the reasons for the current war and the fat cats that send our youth off to die, i do love our country and believe that it can return to what it once was (much like Siegfried Sassoon). however, as i was born in germany and go back often, i also love europe. both countries have lots to offer in their own ways and i think it's the world's diversity that makes it such an amazing place. a purely homogenic country is not only boring, but also quite dangerous.
and dont give advice, just say whatever it is you're going to say and if i like it, i'll take it ![]()
"More that is what he has told us has happened..."
how do you know i wasnt there with him?
gas laws
What I dont understand is.....if you dont have corporations, what generate the commerce ?
Do you believe in a strong central Govt. at the Federal level, administering, or lesser so deep and strict regulation to control ?
Against he corporations......I dont get that.....from a student of history and law.
If A corp breaks the law (Enron, World Comm) they deserve to get crushed.
If a corp makes a profit, for its publicly held share holders ( Exxon-Mobile, Microsoft)......why is this so evil ?
I dont get it....from a learned individual in those two areas.
America is a diverse and rich (in culture) country.....from its integration from abroad of individuals....that want to be American and experience the American dream.
That dream is freedom from the strangle hold of a central Govt.
1. we are slowly slipping into an obese and dangerous cental govt. that stiffles freedom and growth.
2. America is accepting those that only wish to take advantage of America's wealth and freedom, not to become a part of it.
Obama, Reid and Pelosi, along with a Supreme court dominated by liberal activist justices in the mold of Ginsberg or Kennedy is dangerous to freedom.
i believe that, in practice, a small government is the best, people should be left to their own devices. problem is, when left to their own devices people usually just screw things up. And in the same vein, corporations can be a wonderful thing when done correctly, but because of human greed, they do more harm than good. at the beginning of their lives corporations were a group of people that got together to do something for the common good such as build a bridge, provide clean water, etc. the group was then disbanded and that was that, it had done its good for society, no buying other corporations, no stock, no representation in court. i dislike corporations now because they're giant behemoths that dont care one bit about you or yours, not at all. i'm all for human progress, but when it is at the expense of the planet that gave us life to begin with, and that provides the forests that you and i both enjoy so much, then i have no time for it. if corporations dont care about you and yours, then they certainly dont care about the planet that makes things like human beings, trees, animals, bugs, etc possible. if what you're after is material gain in your lifetime and that's it, then yeah, corporations are the way to go: more, faster, cheaper better. me, i care more about the human race as well as all the other incredibly diverse lifeforms found on our planet and i would never give those things up just for short term material gain and a bunch of "stuff" that i could (and do) go without. and those "publicly held shares" are concentrated in an extremely tiny percentage of people, the disparity is amazing. when over 3/4 of the stocks on wallstreet are owned by less than 1% of the population, thats not benefiting you and me, thats benefiting the ultra rich so they can get even more ultra rich.
totally forgot, you can absolutely have commerce without corporations, the problem is that people just want more more more. not small, sustained growth that benefits everyone. small businesses can provide goods and services just as well as the big guys. i'd much rather support a local small business owner than i would a walmart. if that means spending a bit more then so bit it, thats the price you pay, i think of it as an investment in my community.
the problem is not that corporations are inherently greedy; the problem is with the number of companies across the world, its damn near impossible to find great men to lead each of them. So instead you get these greedy people that grew up spoiled because their dad was incredibly successful and are extremely materialistic, shallow, and incompetent making stupid decisions that negatively affect all of us, even themselves.
small businesses cannot do just a good a job as the big guys; a small company cannot supply goods as well as Walmart.
(i feel like a dick always disagreeing with you)
if you put a guy that came from nothing at the helm it'd be the same thing, thats just how human beings are conditioned. remember 1984? when the "average joe's" finally took power, they were determined to keep it because they werent interested in the trappings of power, they were interested in power itself, and took it to the most extreme. the shareholders are also quite a problem. even the most morally upright guy will probably cave when a bunch of very wealthy people who essentially own the company he/she is running tell him/her to do this and that in order to get them those nice quick profits.
what goods can they not supply as well? junk. if you really think about it its just crap that walmart is providing you with. so in that case, yes, small business probably cannot keep me as awash in useless, cheap, chintzy crap as walmart.....oh well. small business can provide me with food, some luxury goods, etc. the problem is always that people want a bunch of stuff. stuff stuff stuff, thats the name of the game. so if you're arguing for those people i'm afraid i can never win. i'll say, "hey, why dont you get rid of 6 of your 7 sit-n-spins" and they'll say "hell no, theres a new model coming out and i want to have them all"
what can you say to that?

yeah, i didnt mean to say some random guy from the street would be good. especially because the rest of us were raised to be consumers. we are raised to be extremely materialistic so that the companies can make money, we are raised to be plagues on the earth. that doesnt mean all of us become plagues on the earth and there arent business people that try to make a good impact on the world. afterall, the reason humans arent just animals is the improvements past humans have passed down.
