Topic: The Presidential Debate II

yep..it's that time again tongue

it's today..

what do you guys think?

i guess mccain's good in the format this debate will be
but he will have to probably answer some tough questions

i excpect a debate that won't affect the polls too much, but at the same time, might deliver some headlines

Re: The Presidential Debate II

well, right now Obama is clearly ahead in Domestic issues and McCain is clearly ahead in Foreign issues. McCain is well behind in polls because of the banking scares we've had making more of the population feel domestic issues are more important. So McCain needs to try to gain some ground with the economy if he's going to stand any chance of winning the presidency. He needs to be very aggressive in claiming to be pro-regulation and call Obama a Liar in claiming he was against regulation; he needs to mar Obama's clean image. he needs to claim Obama's plan will decrease jobs.

Re: The Presidential Debate II

wow..only one response

american election, not our thing anymore?

Re: The Presidential Debate II

McCain wil come off as a desperate, angry, bitter old man...

and Obama will be very elegant, tactful, and help drive the nail in the coffin for McCain's campaign.

Obama will keep appealing to the independents,  and McCain will struggle to keep his base intact.

He'll keep his base, but his base isn't going to win him the election.

Re: The Presidential Debate II

awwww...so nice of you tongue

lol

but honestly, i think mccain might come off stronger today, unless he can't handle the pressure

Re: The Presidential Debate II

Its up to McCain to destroy the myth that is OBAMA tonight.

He has to deliver his economic message,
He has to explain why Corporate tax cuts are EXTREMELY important in this economic stage.
He has to show how Obama is going to tax the hell out of Americans, and hurt the economy even more.
Not only attack ear-marks.....that are, as distasteful as they are, what drives a republic.

He has to domestically bring to light not only Obama's inexperience, but his radical associations w/questionable figures.

Obama had a hard time putting Clinton away.......

Can he put McCain away tonight ?

Come .......joust w/the master.
I'm always Right.   You are just intellectually Left.....behind.
Individual patriot, and a REAGAN Conservative.

Re: The Presidential Debate II

if mccain even says the name ayers

he might aswell, call his campaign onto the stage, if he can get that darn cellphone working
get them to dig a grave, bury his campaign signs and they can all sit around the grave and throw dirt on the signs till their covered

pointing to any of obama's "questionable" associations will be SUICIDE, SUICIDE for mccain, NO QUESTION ABOUT IT

Re: The Presidential Debate II

Re: The Presidential Debate II

Obama is much more organized in his speech, but he's also speaking in generalities.

Re: The Presidential Debate II

well, like i said

it was guna be even

thus mccain looses, he needed something to change it all
this isn't it, he hasn't made up his lost ground..not even close
and now mccain has just one last spotlight left to change things up..

Re: The Presidential Debate II

omg, weiler and Mccain are related, they have the same ability for denial.
Obama stated that he wasn't intending to attack Pakistan but wasn't going to stop till we get bin ladin, but Mc Cain comes right up next, and say you heard him he wants to attack Pakistan... like the American people are total idiots and can't listen for themselves..... don't get me wrong i think both dems and rep's are shit, and should be lined up and shot for treason.... but for someone to do that on national TV he's acting like no one is even listening.
thats kind of retarded.

Re: The Presidential Debate II

What was disturbing was the talk about America's moral role in the world by the both of them.

I thought that was funny, considering our imperialist foreign policy.

Re: The Presidential Debate II

Well, yeah, they tried but...

McCain wanted to look confident and angry, he looked shaky and... old (a democrat behind the camera for sure), taking some time to really enter the thing. The "that one" move was just stupid, asking for a stick in days to come.

Obama was just confident, to the point where I personnaly found it annoying at times, and really general in his answers, visibly not even bothering to answer in the end. The forced added time reaction was mightily close to make him look bad but he somehow managed to get out of it.

But it was really difficult for both, since the questions are kind of stupid (reaction on a hypothesis of Iran attacking Isra

Re: The Presidential Debate II

no jokes, I'm really voting for Obama.

Re: The Presidential Debate II

Not a surprise,  Obama won.

Obama didn't do an incredible job,  but then again he didn't have to.  He just had to make sure the game didn't change, and that is exactly what he did.

McCain however,  looked like a shaky, angry, bitter old man with a fake smile trying to convince you that he's "cool" and "hip".

Really,  Obama didn't need to do much.     McCain looked like father time trying to wear proverbial "bling" and sell himself off as something other than what he is.

A corrupt, bitter, desperate old man.

Honestly,  I was sorta hoping he had a stroke on the debate stage.   That'd have been classic.

Re: The Presidential Debate II

Oh,  and I hope the republican charges are right.

I hope deep down Obama is a radical socialist.   I hope he's doing the whole "religious" thing to get elected.  Since the majority of Americans believe in an imaginary sky friend.  (Sad, truly.)

,,, but I'm no where near convinced of that.  In fact,  he's very likely not that "radical".

However,  I'm voting for him simply because he is the base the left needs to really get a grip on this country.   8 years of Obama, and a socialist like myself may not be a minority.

The economic crisis right now makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.   Hopefully over the next decade as science and technology advance,  less and less people will cling to pathetic religious faiths and idiotic "morals". (Example, silly pro-lifers, and those against genetic engineering of the human being).

Obama is no where near being radical enough to satisfy me,  However the current political environment in America would never allow him to.

So let's hope Obama IS as radical as conservatives claim.    America doesn't just need a wake-up call,  it needs to be hit in the face with a sledge hammer.   That's the only way it'll wake up and move in the right direction.

Re: The Presidential Debate II

Interesting "Debate". Nothing new was said really. Actually Obama and McCain repeated themselves constantly. I didn't really care for the time limit either. One minute isn't enough to really discuss something let alone the fact that they couldn't really respond to one another. Neither one really said anything. Obama won because of the fact that he didn't screw up. McCain lost because he didn't make Obama screw up. This was really just for people who are playing into the publicity of it all instead of the politics.

In all seriousness though, is it me, or did McCain look a lil sick on stage?

Re: The Presidential Debate II

OMFG, the crazies come out tonight.
i think the constitution should be ratified again, and the sates get control over themselves again.
we don't need a DEA, FBI, justice DEPT, ATF, secret service, and US marshals all doing the same thing.
we don't need NSA, CIA, foreign services committee and ambassadors, they also all do the same job.
and don't get me started on the IRS... personal income tax is illegal by the constitution, and they aren't even a federal agency, and never have been.

Re: The Presidential Debate II

my point is that anyone that is a dem or rep, isn't going to do a damn thing to help the common person, they never have and never will.... we need a strong new political party to take over.... and not some socialist scum that just wants a free ride on everyone else's back, put out or get out, if you don't want to work for what you get then move to Canada.

Re: The Presidential Debate II

If we followed the constitution how it was designed to be,   America would lie in rubble.

Re: The Presidential Debate II

Socialist scum that wants free hand outs?

I'm socialist, but I do not agree with "free handouts".

I believe that every citizen in America deserves medical care, a strong education, and in times of need help with food.   ESPECIALLY when children are involved.

However,  no just leaching off the government.  If you want government benefits you damn well better be working no less than 40 hours a week or be enrolled in college.

I never really had to struggle for money,  that doesn't mean I can't empathize with those who do.

We can't be stupid though.   Oh, and if a person refuses to work a certain amount of hours or get educated than the following should happen...

They would be stripped of all government benefits.

If they have children,  their children would be taken away if they can't afford to care for them.

That only is if they refuse to work or get educated.    There also should be a very well ran government organization that makes finding employment not a problem.  Even if that happens to be working for the government.

You might not get rich,  but you want money from the government?  You're ass better be picking up garbage or other such activities.   I'm sure there are plenty of ways to put people into work that benefit the nation and our communities as a whole.
