Re: 60 days to go... On the road and TV speeches

LOL

you're probably right

man if things keep up like this, and no october surprises, obama will be declared winner within an hour of polls closing tongue wink

but i fear something devastating will happen, it's a hunch(i'm usually wrong, so i guess i'm happy about that tongue)

Re: 60 days to go... On the road and TV speeches

and then you can pledge yourself to Obama! In formation!

Re: 60 days to go... On the road and TV speeches

So much for Obama's camp avoiding the smear campaign.

Official mail to supporters tell them about upcoming video, a 13-minute documentary about the scandal called "Keating Economics: John McCain and the Making of a Financial Crisis"...

http://my.barackobama.com/keatingvideo (full arriving at "noon eastern october 6th")

Obama's camp trying to score twice both in getting debate back to the economy and smearing McCain. Poor choice I'd say.

Re: 60 days to go... On the road and TV speeches

My thoughts: they should've saved it for a bit, but i can see why they did it today, VERY GOOD in my opinion
Golk did you really think it was possible to win without going negative? UNFORTUNATELY that's what's needed to be done
i don't care how obama does it anymore tongue, it's needed to be done smile
they can't be on the defensive...

Golk what this does is, this makes it the big new news, no more terrorrist affiliations-- but i gotta say, i loved it when the media mentioned the terrorist statement from palin than said, that was directly from a NYT article which concluded that obama could not be accused of anything as they were not close personally --sorta backfired

but this should be MUCH MUCH more effective seeing as this is tied with the economy, mccain's on defensive AGAIN smile

BTW i love the site big_smile,
with its dirty green colour, great job by the obama campaign
personally i wouldn't have put the "donate now" tab there... maybe a link somewhere saying, you can fight against this or something
but the donate now tab sorta gives the wrong impression..

Re: 60 days to go... On the road and TV speeches

the American people are acting like Bush in voting for Obama. the problem with Bush, is he put under qualified people in important positions. and thats what the American people are doing, voting for someone thats under qualified for the position of president simply because he's likable.

Re: 60 days to go... On the road and TV speeches

YEAHHHH

right on Avo

Re: 60 days to go... On the road and TV speeches

Except the NYT is full of it

"The public record" whats the public record of Bush's discussions with Karl rove? You think they gotta fill out a form?

Just another America hating bastard right next to Obama, nothing to see here, move along...

How many people hosted Obama events in their homes?  Tells me Obama liked Ayers a bit. "Oh but he was 8 when Ayers bombed the Pentagon" but he was 40 when Ayers said he was sorry they hadnt done more and that 9/11 masked the true guilt of the USA

You can go very far in the Democratic party by hating america.

Re: 60 days to go... On the road and TV speeches

Experience? or do you mean corruption?

... and how can anyone honestly attack Obama for experience and yet support McCain.   Putting in-experienced people in positions of power?  Sarah Palin being a stroke away from the presidency isn't just stupid,  it's very dangerous and quite hypocritical.

Obama has proven over and over again that he has the knowledge, diplomacy, and over-all intellect to lead the nation.   McCain has war stories, and decades of being in politics without much to show for it.

The fact that Obama has achieved the position he is at in such a short time eats away at McCain.   He knows this is his last shot and the only reason he is even in the position he's at is mostly due to the horrible selection that was his competition in the republican primaries.

He's towing the party line now and doing anything and everything he can to become president before he dies.  Which,  being 72, might not be that far off.

He isn't going to change anything.   He's the last ditch effort of a crumbling party.

He who stands atop the highest pyramid of skulls can see the furthest

Re: 60 days to go... On the road and TV speeches

first of all, i dont support McCain.

2nd, it makes alot of sense, out of 43 presidents, how many died in office? a handful. when looking at the most experienced and qualified person for the job, of the 2 available choices, McCain is clearly the best.

3rd, Obama has shown nothing other then a gift of public speaking.

Re: 60 days to go... On the road and TV speeches

how convenient

"obama u bastard, u terrorrist, u guna bomb americans, u ass, u ..u ..u .. u .. aaaggggghhh"--"mccain my love..."

-"what has mccain done"

-"WHHHHHHHHAAATTTT, i don't support him"

.............. .. ... ......

"3rd, Obama has shown nothing other then a gift of public speaking."
oh his intelligence prooven during his time in Harvard, and throughout his highschool years, and his political career
vs McCain being umm second last in class

is nothing right? OHHH offcourse, how stupid of us to want a SMART president..

"how many died in office? a handful"
how many were 72 years old, 4 time survivors of a returnng cancer, and having a close to 1 in 3 chance of dying in office if elected

Re: 60 days to go... On the road and TV speeches

McCain pulled out of Michigan and Ohio. Next thing you know he'll be fleeing to Alaska with Stupid Mom!

Re: 60 days to go... On the road and TV speeches

he pulled out of ohio??

REALLYYYY???

i only heard of michigan..

u sure gen?

Re: 60 days to go... On the road and TV speeches

gladiator, i just dont like Obama, that doesnt mean i have to like McCain.

i cant beleive you're giving a 72 year old 1/3 odds of dieing in the next 4 years. especially a rich one thats going to have the best medical available.

i only heard of him dropping out of Michigan too.

Re: 60 days to go... On the road and TV speeches

well not me avo
insurance company statistics...and people who researched with all the factors in play for just mccain and researched his individual scenario
normally a 72 year old man with his wealth, resources and fitness would live to atleast 80
however, he is also a 4 time survivor of a lethal form of skin cancer that is known to reutrn, and return with higher chances of death

the 1/3 chance included all the factors, his age, statistics in america, his fitness, his resources, and his health past

Re: 60 days to go... On the road and TV speeches

whats Obama's chances with all the white supremacists in this county? 1/4?

Re: 60 days to go... On the road and TV speeches

would you happen to be one of them avo tongue

i'm getting that vibe LOL,

anyways joking aside...

yes we do realize that, but the american president is one of the most protected presidents in the world
security is in our hands.. health is in God's hand, atleast a good part of it smile
you can never control one's health fully, you can control their security though
if need be, he doesn't ever have to get out of the white house, and i'd be fine with that

Re: 60 days to go... On the road and TV speeches

Gotta love the Fox Homepage "Nabbed by Obama Nation". Jesus.

And on Larry King Live, the misery of both democrats caught on mocking Palin's accent and winking, as mocking "normal folks".

Far from the attacks, what strikes me at the moment is the unability of both campaigns to keep their defensors in check or to  hand them a clear message to defend.

On McCain part, I think the strategy of raising doubts on Obama's links to dubious people is a good one, but they HAVE to keep it on a general judgement doubt/trust issue. Going the "palling with terrorists" way is not only unefficient, it clearly identify american people (not sold to the cause) as dumb retards hesitating for a man who is in fact evil. This could work with a brand new scoop, but getting back to arguments lost by Clinton and already all over the place won't do it. Republicans strategists, usually so good at playing with people's fears, are using ICBMs instead of poisonous darts.

On Obama's part, to try and defend the Ayer's connection beyond three lines is giving credit to it, and they mess it up. And more importantly, there was no clear message after Palin's debate on what to do with her "folksy" attitude except making fun of it. This is ridiculous. It's like saying, "if you don't find it hilarious you're stupid!". Palin's winks and expressions are not an accident nor natural, it's a chosen strategy like any other, and should be dealt with as such. It clearly works with part of the country, so the last thing you want is claiming all "joe six packs" are definite idiots.

Re: 60 days to go... On the road and TV speeches

bottom line

i don't see the mccain "strategy" working
if they had been at it for months, then maybe it would've worked

do i need to revisit the basic rule of marketing?, i think i made a lengthy post about it, not too long ago
the debate today, should be interesting

Re: 60 days to go... On the road and TV speeches

OK OK whatever

but the following accusations are too serious to ignore

"From CBS News' Dean Reynolds:

(NASHVILLE, TENN.)...Obama's campaign schedule is fuller, more hectic and seemingly improvisational. The Obama aides who deal with the national reporters on the campaign plane are often overwhelmed, overworked and un-informed about where, when, why or how the candidate is moving about. Baggage calls are preposterously early with the explanation that it's all for security reasons.

If so, I would love to have someone from Obama's campaign explain why the entire press corps, the Secret Service, and the local police idled for two hours in a Miami hotel parking lot recently because there was nothing to do and nowhere to go. It was not an isolated case.

The national headquarters in Chicago airily dismisses complaints from journalists wondering why a schedule cannot be printed up or at least e-mailed in time to make coverage plans. Nor is there much sympathy for those of us who report for a newscast that airs in the early evening hours. Our shows place a premium on live reporting from the scene of campaign events. But this campaign can often be found in the air and flying around at the time the "CBS Evening News with Katie Couric" is broadcast. I suspect there is a feeling within the Obama campaign that the broadcast networks are less influential in the age of the internet and thus needn't be accomodated as in the days of yore. Even if it's true, they are only hurting themselves by dissing audiences that run in the tens of millions every night.

The McCain folks are more helpful and generally friendly. The schedules are printed on actual books you can hold in your hand, read, and then plan accordingly. The press aides are more knowledgeable and useful to us in the news media. The events are designed with a better eye, and for the simple needs of the press corps. When he is available, John McCain is friendly and loquacious. Obama holds news conferences, but seldom banters with the reporters who've been following him for thousands of miles around the country. Go figure.

The McCain campaign plane is better than Obama's, which is cramped, uncomfortable and smells terrible most of the time. Somehow the McCain folks manage to keep their charter clean, even where the press is seated.

The other day in Albuquerque, N.M., the reporters were given almost no time to file their reports after McCain spoke. It was an important, aggressive speech, lambasting Obama's past associations. When we asked for more time to write up his remarks and prepare our reports, the campaign readily agreed to it. They understood.

Similar requests are often denied or ignored by the Obama campaign aides, apparently terrified that the candidate may have to wait 20 minutes to allow reporters to chronicle what he's just said. It's made all the more maddening when we are rushed to our buses only to sit and wait for 30 minutes or more because nobody seems to know when Obama is actually on the move.

Maybe none of this means much. Maybe a front-running campaign like Obama's that is focused solely on victory doesn't have the time to do the mundane things like print up schedules or attend to the needs of reporters.

But in politics, everything that goes around comes around."

So what?  Remember wehn Michelle Obama said Barack int eh morning was "a little cranky, a little stinky"?  Now we hear his plane stinks? COINCIDENCE??? I think not!

The evidence is mounting that Obama stinks!
