Simple Fix.
Have an extra option when posting messages (similar to the "BBCode: off", "[img] tag: off" buttons we have) which turns off (or on) any running theme. This could be used to turn any running theme on the day. If it is used on a non-theme day, obviously, it does nothing. So, there shouldn't be any problems in that respect.
Alternatively, you could have a tag which you place in the writing (like bold? italic? ) which stops the theme. Maybe "[theme] ... [/theme]" which makes the theme, or turns it off, one or the other.
Of course, there is a simple fix now, which is available to all. Just, make a post eg, "a". Then edit it, with the real message eg "Pirate Day Rocks" then press submit.
Having said that, i agree, there should be an easier way to disable the theme. Either as a button you press to on/off or a tag "[X] ... [/X]".

P.S.
I'm not for or against pirate day. It is fun in some ways, annoying in others. I'm staying on the fence on this one.
Also, like the forum change. Though, personally, i liked the old ways, but the new style is good. It will grow on me; like Windows Media Player layouts changing every version.

It's not going away and it is only once a month. Deal with it. You only have to put up with it for 24 hours every 30 to 31 days. Ok, so February means you have to put up with it in less than 30 days, so what? There are 11 other months you don't have to deal with it but for 24 hours at the beginning of the month. Think of it as the IC equivalent of a menstral cycle. IC is having it's period and becoming a woman. Show some respect.

well, I prefer not to have something in the forums that modify's what I'm saying. It's worse then the mods editing your posts. Besides I have yet to see it only last 24h's. Most of the time it lasts anywhere from 36-48h's.

To the subject; I've seen people complaining about less. It feels like having a bug but then for a whole day or more and it keeps coming back. Its annoying.
