Hi. I just returned after a few years away from IC and was wondering why there are so few partax's left and what would be the ideal strategy fora partax, as I have never played as one. Cheers
mostly these days ye be designated wizzie/resourcer, much like a banker ye have limited usage unless in a war gal.... which i might add seems t' be a thin' o' th' past these days.
i played Partax one round an' were bein' resourcer as well as attacker, ya bilge rat!
i got meself t' where i were bein' no more than 3 ticks from any system in our core an' then i freed up one attacker from that job.
an' th' 70% magic bonus fer cpff makes it real easy t' defeat even bigger enemy attackers as u can cpff their portals ![]()
it were bein' fun round
I played Partax several rounds. When you are quite passive i would advise banking. More fun however is attacker resourcer. You say what? Attacking?!?!? YES
As a Partax you are able to have 21 enemy portals forcefielded in 1 tick. This is in most cases an complete system. No way someone is able to hold them all.
It's very time consuming but very fun. Who cares about an attack bonus ![]()
wow, that is something i never thought about... you could effectively, neutralize a system, and attack another in one strike, and attack the other with a full one.... and take the whole damn thing.
2 systems at once, two for one baby LOL.
it is actually the ultimate banker raider.
wow, you learn something new every day in this game... i have always been so aggressive, i never noticed the potential for a partax.
how can you do 21 cpff's in 1 tick?
Surely he means in total.. but.. the math doesn't seem right..
7 in tick 0
1 for each of the next 10 ticks..
This would mean that 22 ticks after tick zero there would be 17 portals down, not 21.. So I am not sure how he gets that.. but one player can get 16-17 down @ a time.. Just make sure you attack on the tick when the max are down..
Sorry, mistaken my math indeed, long time ago i played pax.....
Faq: How long do spells/ops last?
Create Portal Force Field (10h; takes 12h to build up)
Tick 0: cast 7 FF which start at tick 12 till 22
Tick 7: you can cast again 7 FF which start at tick 19 till 29
Tick 10: you can cast again 3 FF: which kick in at tick 22 and will last till 32

in total thats 17 FF active at tick 22
Still quite impressive i would say.
No doubt that 17 is impressive.. and most players can't station their fleet to defend all of that.. but they might have one with all their figs.. and just take out half your fleet.. It is like Russian Roulette against a good, larger, fig-based attacker.. lol
well, to clarify what i meant, is that you can PFF on seven in their core, and with most of they're fleet stationed to protect them you can go to another system all together and take planets like candy from a baby.
and if they are big enough you would have enough morale to take 2 systems before they even realised what was happening.
Well, they actually get a 12 tick warnin', so i think they will know
But th' notion 17 portals be down makes scallywags tend t' react strange an' in panic. Ahoy, by Davy Jones' locker! It actually backfired on me only ONCE when i sent most o' me fleet t' th' 17 planets that were forcefielded. My target waited fer me t' attack an' when i hit that scurvey dog he kicked out ten o' me portals. Learned th' hard way t' always keep a significant fleetsize at home...
As fer th' big attacker with fighs argument. If he has them stationed fer defence than he isn't attackin' ye
And doin' a figh run up front t' check fer lasers an' fighs is commen practice i think. But as cougar recognised the power lies in the fact that you are not bound to attack FF planets. With fleet stationed you have a nice chance on their portalled onces.
bah, just watch their activity and see when they'll be offline normally
then plan your attack for then:P
i don't have a set time off line... LOL, it has served me well through out the years ![]()
funnest partax round i had was the last hc sd round. killed so much iron and so many portals and so much research its an awesome race without spec op limits
