Topic: Old Strats

back when i started in 01 or somewhere aroun' thar, thar were awesome strats fer attackers an' bankers, now all i find is noob crap an' scallywags bickerin'.  would anyone happened t' have saved that delightful auld information?  Load the cannons!  if so let me know, it would be much appreciated

Nothing has changed from than to now that's too drastic. Search around strategy forum and you'll find similar strats.

no there is a big difference, we did lose alot of good material since the forum change........
there's only 2 pages in the strategy forum now and very few of it is quality material.... plus we don't have a search function on this forum :'( even though there's not much to search for as the forum is fairly empty

Quality material doesn't mean there has to be alot of quantity ... You can pretty much easily find a good attacking or banking strat since hence you said theres only 2 pages ... just look, dont assume things will always be handed to you. And As previously stated not much has changed, if you remember any of your old strats use them, or simply improvise = Best strategy.

You're right but back before the forum change, a noob could easily read the guides in strategy and would have a decent understanding of the game. Now well lets just say there's more of a learning curve. I took large breaks in the IC career, and I always went to the forums to refresh myself every time I returned to IC. This time though, I had to do alot of digging and had to ask alot of questions to fill in some gaps which I had forgotten.

the problem is that the game has changed so much since me and you played before, that the strats have mostly changed in the fact that you have rules that keep you from going all out on someone.
i remember when i could take a whole family out no matter the planets as long as you continued to get aid... and opps could be done all day long as long as you had the aid, and home portals could be sab'ed at the start of round if you didn't like someone so close to you.

well that was a rousing discussion.....

anyway, the strats were better, the things people have up here now are total crap.  i used to have an amazing partax strat that im sure some people remember, many pages long, very detailed, very informative.  now it just seems like a bunch of monkeys throwing feces at each other.

so i guess the only thing left to say is... thanks for letting me watch your detritus fly about.

there are some great info in there, but as you've mentioned that alot of it is old and out of date....
the game may not have changed, but people have changed in the way they play the game which means strats must also be adjusted
