Obama lied!
lol ![]()
i gotta add before the debate, i expect mccain to win this one, foriegn policy is really mccain's issue --good thing it's not a big issue right now
but expect it to be twisted toward the economy, a lot of it
and interesting study done, apparently never in the past have debates been a game changer, or worked for one candidate convincingly..
They are setting up a tele-promter for Obama to read from.....
In the back, they will be feeding him answers.
Look for a lot of Obama-isms.
"Well, let me be perfectly clear, here. Ummmm, eehh, well, I have always maintained, and will continue to maintain that my position on this issue has always been the same. I have never waivered, and you can go to the record to see for yourself. Ummmmmm
What was the question again ?"
anticipated debate highlights
Obama starts reading off Dow Jones closers before they shut off his teleprompter
McCain gets a cell phone call from Mrs. Giuliani
Moderator Jim Lehrer starts plugging his new political novel
Senator John Kerry runs amok in the U of Mississippi audience screaming "Don't taze me bro!" and shooting them with tazer darts until he's popped by the Secret Service
jk if kerry were there it wouldn't be for the debate
http://www.usmagazine.com/john-kerry-was-not-partying-with-coeds
they get there answeres from someone else. Why shouldn't they? Anyway, let me know if there are some surprises.
you know what i wanna see?
McCain flip out, and obama laugh at him ![]()
or atleast McCain flip out, turn all red ..and screaamm like a t-rex dinasour ![]()
How old are you Gladiator?
I Am Soooo Pumped For This Debate!@!!!!!!!!!!!!!
rofl @ the yell
........ probably a best case scenario ![]()
It's on.
Bets on Obama exceeding his time several times?
was it just me, or did i hear mccain say
the fault is of main street
maybe i was hearing things... but anyone else hear or catch that?
I am catching Obama being very off guard and very defensive, and losing it emotionally at stages.
This is going badly for Obama
..................... i am very dissapointed. maybe this is substantive stuff to people who dont pay attention to politics. but to me this debate is going nowhere and is proving nothing....... i am very dissappointed.
hahaha now that was funny
"I dont even have a seal yet" lol
Yes I loved that jab!!! Omg that was smooth by McCain!
ok couple of things...
mccain was clearly told to repeat "obama doesn't understand"
smart move... it should work
now on the issue of iran, when obama kept repeating and correcting mccain about the precondition statement, and that obama wanted preperations..but mccain kept hitting at the point -- i think mccain gave up the iran issue where i think he was doing fairly well, it showed him a little angry
and you can bet your ass, mccain was told to smile and have his creepy smirk on whenever obama is speaking to show he doesn't get angry ![]()
overall -- this debate is not guna make a difference, even though polls i think are BS... polls aren't guna change with this, you can bet what's left of your money that the debate and news are guna go primarily back to the economy again
talking about hits..i think this is very effective:
we spend 10 billion on iraq every month, they have a 75 billion oil surplus -- i think obama should've repeated it a bit more...
Not goinna make a difference eh?
So you figure Obama lost ![]()
I turned on the radio in the middle of that Iran exchange. Obama uh cant shut ah up and I gotta gotta make this point keeps interrupting McCain to say no I didnt I said it first and better and uh er uh.
McCain is better at talking without breathing
And ive heard deeper analysis and more passion on city buses
I would have counted that easily enough...
"And then feed into the Democrat Hysteria that it was about us stealing the Iraqi oil after all? Not on your life!"
well here is how politics work...
tomorow, for you to be declared the winner, you gotta have a soundbite that's guna flip this election
it is very hard to win a debate, it is much easier to loose one...
niether of the candidates had a gaff, they did not have a soundbite moment that could be manipulated
thus this debate probably not effecting too much, just like it has been for past elections...
and we have to remember there is an economic crisis ..that will catch the media
although i have to say, obama did really well to portray mccain as the guy who cares about the big guys and portray himself as the main street guy
mccain did well at portraying obama as the new guy
but as an obama supporter, i just counter that by saying that obama showed his smarts in a lot of the points, and his firm belief in his own views (that's a matter of opinion though)
one moment i wanna point out..where i thought obama really went after mccain, and i thought was preety kick ass ![]()
was when he turned to mccain, reached his hand out to mccain
listed about 4-5 things, like the wmd's in iraq and a couple of other things, and then right after, saying each one of them, pointed to mccain and said "john you were wrong!!"
i thought that was quite effective ![]()
My analysis:
1) Obama lost it several times, as McCain got under his skin.
2) Obama agreed with McCain several times, where McCain never had to do the reverse... 8 times I think total.
3) Obama interuptions happened, plus he went over several times by my count.
4) The attack on Obama's Earmarks clearly shook up Obama, made him mad even...
5) McCain pointed out our huge business taxes, and made some good points there.
6) McCain got Obama by showing Obama does not understand a number of times, and Obama was unable to counter.
7) McCain promised to VETO all Earmark laden bills until one arrives with no Earmarks, Obama would not, could not, did not reciprocate.
Observation:
The intelligent undecided just swung to McCain.
The Unintelligent lack a solid "gotcha" moment, other than the joke about the Presidential Seal, to rally behind.
I think McCain will go up 3-5% total.

you must be new to politics. politics isnt about answers. politics is about getting millions of uneducated idiots to vote for you.
Einstein, i'm really trying hard to show both sides of the view
you should follow in my example ![]()
no one lost this one... excpect it to be back on obama's ground(the economy) tomorow
obama was real prepared on the Economy govt. plan.
- I think he slipped though, when he said that some cuts to his plans will have to be made.
-When asked to specify that......he couldnt come up with one.....only what he will spend on.
McCain was a little weak.....
-He did attack Obama's earmarks hard, and Obama didnt like that.
-He did have spending freezes on all but military related....and will spur growth through cuts on Corp. tax.
as to the rest of the debate?
Obama was smoked and unprepared on foreign policy.
McCain ...proved he was well traveled, in on many Senate plans, apposed Pres on many policy issues.
Obama faille wildly w/Iran, ..... McCain un settled Obama, and hammered home the 'Meet w/o preconditions" line.
Russia. Again, Obama failed when McCain parroted his first remarks the Each side (Georgia & Russia) should so "Restraint."
On Iraq.....Both played to the base, I see no gains here.
Afghanistan....same. Both played to the base and talking points.
Over all ??
McCain wins this. He showed he is a leader and decisive.....but, he was supposed to win this debate. he IS more seasoned and experienced in this area.
Obama did will early, held his ground in the middle w/Iraq/Afghanistan....but lost bad when it came to Iran, Russia and over all foreign policy.
