What 9/11 are we remembering? The Chilean coup by Augusto Pinochet, or the American one? I'd gladly remember the first one, I have some 2nd thoughts about the second one...

I couldn't really care less about 9/11 although I don't want that to sound heartless.

Many people died, which is a terrible tragedy, but if I was to weep for everyone I don't know who dies early or tragically I will be on a drip for the rest of my life trying in vain to recover the fluid lost in tears.

I also find the concept of respect for the dead bizarre at the best of times. Just because someone is dead why should I or anyone else have respect? To me the victims of 9/11 are nameless, faceless people of unknown deeds, so beyond the initial horror of the situation as it happened and my displeasure at the resulting world events, why do I care and why should I bother to mark the day in any way this many years on?

I can see where sitting duck is coming from..  I think sort of along the same lines, except quite not so full heartedly..  I do belive that we should remember th' lives lost, but i dont think we should hold a rememberance fer every time a tragedy happens..

Just to add more political arguments here:

USA has killed more innocent people in the past few years than those lost in 9/11..  Do we remember those souls too?
