is that another example of how what i say doesn't affect you? smile btw, you might want to look at lines 3 and 7 of your own post and ponder on them for a moment. anyway, i must apologise. i didn't know me asking about why you use caps in that way would upset you this much. if english isn't your first language, using caps like that might be cultural thing. i've seen lots of hispanic people do it since they're more impulsive, for example the mexicans. i'm not really sure what's the reason behind it. like i said, a cultural thing.

Gladiator when enough say it happened, and they are willing to go that far saying it, then I trust it... if proven wrong then they will lose the election. They won't do a stunt that will cost them the election. So therefore it is true.

Americans are just indoctrinated to love that flag so much.. the pledging allegiance at schools, that's so outlandish for standards here. I guess that's why europeans go "its just a piece of cloth". Americans learn from baby on to love that flag etc.

I think the fact that this doesn't happen here has something to do with history. It was Nationalism that allowed 2 world wars to happen on our soil (our being Europe then, Holland was neutral during WW1). People fear nationalism, and saluting the flag just reminds people here of Nazi Germany.

Anyways, since americans take the flag as a symbol for the values the country stands for, I understand why people would get outraged by their throwing away. Should work the other way around too though.. if this story is bogus, those so-called patriots will have used lies about the flag to further their political agenda.

Any more news about it from CNN or anything "leftist" ?? a quick look just now didn't seem to giv any result.

Whether they dumped, without recycling, the national flag or a different piece of cloth isn't my issue (though it could be).
What is my issue is the hypocrisy of the Democrats not ensuring they lived out their preaching of being environmentally friendly through recycling (and other things)! x(
