the LHC is only perceived as a doomsday device by those who hardly understand anything about it.
The mayans did not see that date as the end of the world, but as the end of an era wich would give birth to a new era.

the guy who told us the WTC would go down on 9/11 said in October 2009 terrorist will gain control of a nuclear weapon and hit new york detroit chicago or LA with it.

i mean it was well known by everyone in the goverment it was going to happen and they ignored the threats and suffered for doing so, should we not atleast try and prevent this one of just let it happen also?

The LHC is not an atom smasher, it is a hadron collider. Hadrons are not atoms.

What I know of it it seems unlikely that they will be able to do anything that resembles a doomsday device, however that is ot saying that the infomation they gain from it will not lead to a doomsday device being made...

A balck hole will appear? So from one or two particles a mass 'heavier' than the sun will emerge that is so dense that light itself cannot escape? This is what you will think will happen? Truely?

In any event it would not be a doomsday event, as we would live out our lives completly unaware that we were being sucked into the black hole as we would be inside the event horizon, and thus our timeline would continue to flow, jsut not in respect to the rest of the universe.

Or something else completly... its not like anyone knows what happens inside an event horizon...

However do think about it a bit more... I mean even our sun will not turn into a black hole if it collapsed, which it won't because it is too small for that too...

Its not what i believe.. its the most popular theory of people who say LHC will end the world.
