Topic: How do you get free music?

Can anyone suggest a decent file, free, file sharing program? My main concern is spyware and Trojans that Kazaa was famous for. I use to have LimeWire but when I got my new laptop, I didn't download it, because I wanted to keep this PC fairly clean.

Someone told me about BearShare, but with all it's extra user friendly features, I'm not to keen to just download it and see what happens.

Any advice would be helpful smile

i love bearshare... though i cant use it now anymore (have a mac now, so its not because of bearshare itself that i dont use it anymore)... but that was the fastest "kazaa-like" program ive ever seen, and never had problems with spyware and stuff

I suggest to just use YouTube.

if you want to actually download music, again Soulseek. It's very good for less-mainstream music and the users actually have songs without errors in them or wrongly labeled tracks..

I use mp3realm.org occasionally just for how convenient it is...I've never had problems off it but I can't guarantee anything.

For whole albums yes, but for single songs not so much

Yes, torrents are so good that if you're lucky you have to wait over six hours for a single album. Awesome.

If you download unknown albums, yes. Albums like U2, Tiesto, and other known people go quite fast.

Unknown albums is relative.

Use Limewire fer singles an' torrent fer whole albums i no nay ne'er get any problems at all an' i been doin' that fer like 5 years smile

Well, not *all* me music obviously, cause I'm not filthy rich, but part o' it and I agree that it's the best option!
But you'll notice he asked for free music.

My suggestion is get friends who have CD's they don't want.

I'm actually asking for a friend with very limited computer experience. I personally use a site that downloads audio (and video) from youtube and other video sites.
