Score is stupid. You have no idea how demoralizing it is, especially for a smaller family, to stay in the same spot in the rankings in spite of the fact that they have been ahead of the guys in front of them for WELL over a week now

It makes rising in the rankings next to impossible. It FORCES you to attempt to make people delete. It's like saying to IC "It's not whether you win or lose, it's how you play the game". There was a DEFINITE planet winner, and a DEFINITE networth winner. If one family one both, then there was no argument. If two families won, it's like a minority government.

Or case in point, I think somebody already mentioned...if the top family loses a war with a week left in the round, then they are NOT the best family, regardless of how long they held the first spot. All people are going to say with this is "well I had more planets and more networth than you, so REALLY I won"

yeah same here... weve been 10th nw and 12th size for a week, and still were 18th on score...for a week long

yes that may be, but you still have the NW ranks and size rank to make you feel better, score is just a way of measuring a familys progress over the entire round, not this last week tongue

NW ranks have a problem due to EOR jumps, and size ranks have a problem because of a the issue of farming

in the end everyone can make their own mind up about who won or w/e. in the end have fun, and who cares about ranking really tongue

I think a combination of both systems could work.. Why not implement a weighted average system.  It could be 5% more important where you rank in size/NW each year (so that a whole 52 ticks are the same) and maybe have a slightly more accelerated pace in the last year.. maybe do every 5 ticks is 3% more in weight than the previous ticks. 

I think this is a fair compromise.   It does give credit to families who dominated for 85% of the game, but also allows those families around 3-7th to make a very aggressive jump with about 2 years left and have a chance for 1st place in the score category..

Just a thought.

lol for anybody complaining, seriously, go do something useful with your life.

Going from 40th to 7th at eor is an accomplishment yes. Being top 5 the entire round is an accomplishment as well.

first o' all, goin' from 40th now t' 7th by EOR is damn near mathematically impossible, shiver me timbers Hell, breakin' th' top 30 is pretty much impossible.  See what I mean?




And bein' top 5 fer an entire round with nothin' but NAPs an' infra-whorin'.....If they get beat in th' final week, th' fact is they do NOT deserve a top 5 rankin', no matter how long they held it fer.  Score is not conducive t' th' style o' game that made IC fun in th' first place, pass the grog! 

And not t' sound like a downer, but th' score thin' combined with th' forum thin' (have t' find a mod t' clear me own forum) really is makin' me want t' "go do somethin' useful with me life."

every1 who is vouchin' fer th' score system, is benefitin' from it

every1 who it is screwin'(me fam has been in top 12 size, an' nw (top 10 nw fer 2.5 days now) an' is still out o' top 15 score) says it sucks, Ya swabbie, Get out of me rum!

i have t' say that this current scorin' system sucks, we'll keel-haul ye! 

i agree with what BC Cougar said.  Make scores individual basis. 

Top ranked families not warrin' each other afraid o' losin' is a shame.  an' thus rapin' / farmin' smaller families
which be easy targets fer them.


I am currently in a 49 ranked family an' im gettin' attacked by ranked 2 fam if i look at th' score. 
what's th' point in playin' IC when u only go fer easy planets, by Davy Jones' locker.  top fams gettin' th' ''good player title'' just because
they have very active players, an' Pnaps with other major families so they can farm much smaller families.


i'd say, make th' scorin' on a individual basis

Attackers with their own scorin' point system an' bankers with their own scorin' point system.


fer attackers somethin' like this:
-    every planet they take from a even NW / size family is +30 individual points t' yer rankin'.  Walk the plank, ya bilge rat!
-    Takin' planets from a family they be in war with (both families flagged fer war) gives ye +80 individual points.

-    takin' planets from a smaller fam dependin' on NW / Size gives less scores.  + points or might even give ye

That's exactly what I'm talking about. You don't vote on "who played the best". A baseball season is decided by who has the most wins after exactly 162 games. NOT by who spent the most time with the most wins. With the only exception being the quantity of games, ALL sports and competitions are held this way. Football, cricket, scrabble, Halo....anything.

I'm sorry to say it, but this just sounds like the mods have started listening to sore losers who think that because they feel they "played the best round", that they deserve to win, EVEN THOUGH they did not end up with the most planets OR the highest networth in some cases. (and I'm sorry to name names, but the only name I can think of that repeatedly fits this description is PP).

and once again, I don't mean to come off as a dick, but for the mods to just essentially say "well you go play by your own system" is mildly patronizing. Clearly the game this round is going to be decided based on score, and there's nothing that my "mindset" is going to change about it.

Nw, Size, Score.

There's never been in the history of IC a set winner. There's always been a controversy on size or nw. Now you can just throw in the factor of who has been at the top the longest and whine about that along with it.


Frankly ppl who eor jump and take the nw lead get criticized. People who steal 300 planets to take the lead get criticized. So now you get to criticize the ppl who were at the top the longest but didn't finish #1. =p

Obviously, someone winning on NW doesn't count cause of the ease of EoR jumps. But c'mon, you might have an infra fat fam who has been rank 1 the whole round. Then you, the rank 5 fam declare on them and completely and utterly rape them - taking all their planets and being rank 1 for size. Should you not be rank 1 for that? Ultimately, banker heavy fams who luck out in nice spots will have the advantage with score. Because usually they only get raped towards the end of the round.

The way I see it, you have 3 ways to be #1. Pick one and go for it. Whomever decides which is important is up to them.

The score can be accepted and reconized as the way to see the #1 fam if its just twiked a bit, the mods should be tweaking it asap after this round. If they dont then just get rid of it. U should not lose points for removing inactives or someone deleting from your fam, thats the biggest bogus crap ive heard from it. Im sure a few other things should be tweaked, but u can start with that one 1st
