Re: A new spell

indeed

*bump*

Re: A new spell

cammar has a sucky race and those speed helped to balance it off. if you have a spell to increase speed then you might as well just get ride of cammar cuz noone is likely to choose it. plus it probably makes farming more quickly.

i love you all!

Re: A new spell

Reduce it to 15%, and make it a medium- difficultly spell, unlike the other self- spells.

Then I would completely approve smile

Re: A new spell

sorry to bump this mods, just to let you know how long I've been adding ideas about speeding up the game, can't you realise??

and shame there's no more ideas recorded since we lost the old forum on Mar-2008 sad

Re: A new spell

could be good but i personaly would not play camaar if camaar only has 80% advantage but if camaar was given the spell then WOW stand by bankers 220% speed would rock for any attacker smile

I still think camaar should have the Opp PI and maybe loose the spell find targets planet and SA to equal it up a bit

Re: A new spell

I actually favor the reverse of this..

basically call ita Gravity Trap well... doubles the time it takes for someone to attack a planet or system.. or makes it so all attacks take one turn.. no matter the range..

For those who understand, no explanation is needed.
For those who do not understand, no explanation is possible.

Re: A new spell

Matthang the spell for camaar would give 240% speed, because 20% of 200 is actually 40.

too powerful tongue  this spell would be for custom races only

Re: A new spell

oh come on whats 240? tongue

Friend is a four letter word.

Re: A new spell

err, so Render on your maths,

someone with 0% speed gets no bonus, as 0 x 20% is 0
and someone with 100% speed only gets 120%

Re: A new spell

SLOWER!! NOT FASTER!!

And make the map smaller..

hell yeah, I forgot the original purpose of this is to ADD 20% speed, no matter what your race speed is

so someone with 0% gets 20%
and someone with 100% gets 120%
and a caamar (theorically) would get 220%

right?

You can go custom attacker, pick 80% speed and this spell, so you save race points for other things (enhance penis, etc...)

Well, thats a good idea, make it the way you slow down a target by casting the spell on him, and you speed up ur empire when using it as self spell

Re: A new spell

mathematically correct an increase of 20% speed would result in the following speed bonuses:
20% for races with 0% speed bonus
140% for races with 100% speed bonus
260% for races with 200% speed bonus

why?
0% speed bonus = 1 distance unit per tick
an increase of 20% speed = 1.2 d.u.p.t.

100% speed bonus= 2 d. u. p. t.
an inc. of 20% = 2.4 d. u. p. t.

200% speed bonus=3 d. u. p. t.
an inc. of 20% = 3.6 d. u. p. t.

if adding this spell, then
camaar should have it, everything else would not make much sense....

Re: A new spell

lol 260% thats insane, camaar would be too powerful, I think this should be only for custom races, and maybe for Wardancers, but never for camaar, they'll be the fastest race anyway

Not many people know this, but I own the first radio in Springfield. Not much on the air then, just Edison reciting the alphabet over and over. "A" he'd say; then "B." "C" would usually follow...
