Topic: To Newb

I always wondered what you meant with this line in your signature:
"Fighting for peace is like stopping the raping of a virgin."

That's what a moral person should do, no? But you make it sound like it has something more to it (that it's useless or something)..

God: Behold ye angels, I have created the ass.. Throughout the ages to come men and women shall grab hold of these and shout my name...

He means that they are both contradictions.

Fighting for peace is as much of a contradiction as stopping the rape of a virgin. Thus if you want peace, you have to do it through means other than fighting.

Re: To Newb

yes, but it doesn't make sense tongue

A virgin that's being raped isn't a contradiction at all tongue

God: Behold ye angels, I have created the ass.. Throughout the ages to come men and women shall grab hold of these and shout my name...

That's debatable, but his quote only makes sense if it is contradiction. You can say that by being raped, you are no longer a virgin.

Re: To Newb

wich is not an active action as fighting for peace tongue

God: Behold ye angels, I have created the ass.. Throughout the ages to come men and women shall grab hold of these and shout my name...

Re: To Newb

I think he means fighting for peace is a contradiction. It's a contradiction as much as raping a virgin.

Re: To Newb

Yes, that's the whole point Justinian. Raping a virgin is not a contradiction. Shagging to bbecome one on the other hand is.

God: Behold ye angels, I have created the ass.. Throughout the ages to come men and women shall grab hold of these and shout my name...

Re: To Newb

"Fighting for peace is like stopping the raping of a virgin."

I always thought that this was a positive statement, as though it is saying "if you are the kind of person who would stop a virgin from being raped then you are also the kind of person who would fight for peace".

"So, it's defeat for you, is it? Someday I must meet a similar fate..."

Re: To Newb

Indeed Fokker, but somehow, I don't think that's what Newb meant, that's why I made this topic tongue

God: Behold ye angels, I have created the ass.. Throughout the ages to come men and women shall grab hold of these and shout my name...

Re: To Newb

Yeah. The more I read it the more I realise how stupid it look,

"So, it's defeat for you, is it? Someday I must meet a similar fate..."

Re: To Newb

You know what's funny? You guys are debating philosophically over a signature he probably just thought looked cool.

It's in response to someone having part of their sig (from a shirt) as:
"Fighting for peace is like having sex with a virgin"
I also saw that saying on walls in a university.
So what you quoted me on is my having a comeback to that.

Nope, exactly the opposite.

You're quite a Fokker to be the one to figure that out! wink

Yes, that was what I told in the first post, but I thought it looked so odd. That's all. It looked to me as it was some ironic thingy..

Thanks for the link!
I'll update it into my sig.
But it appears to me that you don't fully practice her philosophy.

Maybe I'm seeing incorrectly here.

Re: To Newb

Not quite.
More like " I fight for your right to verbally express your stupidity".
She wasn't referring to actions, just talk.

Au contraire, it's my duty to make certain everyone can express his stupidity with a certain ease. 5 topics on the same isn't stupidity, that's just plain annoying. As I said, I'm waiting for my colleague to address the issue, making another thread won't change the situation and will only get you blocked tongue

So even though I created a non"election" thread I got it stopped?
Does this mean I can no longer make ANY threads in this forum (until you eventually get word from your other mods) that aren't even remotely about the 2008 US election?

Thanks for answering me.
I disagree with your statement but it's "neither here nor there".
Agree to disagree on this? wink

And people think a left-wing (read: classical) education is a bad thing... Suddenly I understand, very clearly, why you are a mod.
