But Estonia had an unfair advantage over the other republics post collapse: Wine. If I remember rightly Estonia had a wine industry even during the rule of the Communist Party.

Where are Poland, Hungary, and East Germany on the list?

And "economic" freedom is not the best of measure of the "freedom" of a nation, even Singapore and Hong Kong tops the list despite political factors.

Grapes don't grow here and we do not have a wine industry.

Our biggest exports are lumber and furniture.

those countries were not a part of the soviet union. They were a people's democracy in name though.
