Re: Poll Results and Discussion =)

mods first need to get honor themselves, before they should be able to enforce it wink

Re: Poll Results and Discussion =)

Mods should only handling in-family CoH breakers such as spies/rogues/rebels

Re: Poll Results and Discussion =)

What Joor said.
Honor and ethics is something that has to come from within, not be enforced.

Stop! Hammertime!

Re: Poll Results and Discussion =)

the only thing that will work is if it's done with mod enforcing.

That obviously isn't the case or there would be no need for the police tongue People DON'T do things in RL because they fear being caught by the Police and punished. Same would happen here. Sure there would be some corruption (its bound to happen) but nothing is perfect

Re: Poll Results and Discussion =)

Who defines Honor here Gondor?

Breaking a NAP because their leader stinks or breaking a NAP because of a strategic move.

You can't define honor, it could destroy the game if people arn't allowed to break a nap, attack small players, opp families.

Imagine this scene:
Your ally is #100, they have a war against #150 - you on the other hand, are napped with #150. #100 is getting seriously owned by #150, they ask you to do some opps (spy, infiltrate, etc).

Would it be honor to help your ally, or would it be honor not to break the nap and don't opp.

So define honor, if you can...

Re: Poll Results and Discussion =)

I made a thread about that X( it covers the solution pretty much tongue

Re: Poll Results and Discussion =)

If you have a NAP with someone then you have to wait for the cancellation time before you can do anything. It doesn't matter if your ally is getting owned or not. It's your fault for making the NAP and not including your ally and it's your fault for not cancelling the NAP right when they started attacking your ally.

There is no valid reason for breaking a NAP. The fact that people consider it a strategic move just shows how much of a low life they are.

thats how Honor works in the game. It's how it used to anyway.

Re: Poll Results and Discussion =)

dudes, whenever u sign a nap. it means u wanna leave eachother alone for a period of time not forever.

80% of the naps get cancelled.

the most meaningfull code would be something about 2vs1 fam wars, cause that sux.
and also vultures who get involved in wars they don't should be in..

Re: Poll Results and Discussion =)

A code of honor will only be able to be enforced by coding the game so that some rules are enforced. For example NAPS, the suggestion was given before already, if you sign a nap you need the option to state how many hours of cancellation time there is, if both party's agree to for example 48h, upon official cancellation through relations there should be a countdown of 48h, before that time has elapsed no attacks can be made. That's already a solution to dishonourable nap breaks (but yes we need stefan to do some coding then, which he is seemingly willing to do).

Re: Poll Results and Discussion =)

agreed

Re: Poll Results and Discussion =)

for mods to be enforcers of honor it would require them to quit the game and end any friendship they have with current players for them to be totally fair and Independent....  which will not happen

Re: Poll Results and Discussion =)

why not just have in the game code on relations options to sign 24/48/72 or pnaps which are set in the game time locked and automatic message sent to the other fam if one is canceled.

that would stop all nap breaks -  make unofficial naps your own fault also.....

Re: Poll Results and Discussion =)

the thing is it shouldn't be mod enforced, because that's not an objective way to deal with things, it should be game enforced, there is no discussion possible then.

If you're implying that we show favoritism to some ppl, we don't. That's why most of the time we get a lot of crap because we won't do our "friends" favors. I remember getting "you used to be cool Nolio, till you became a mod" so much before =p

Re: Poll Results and Discussion =)

and I agree with doomer, I'm not in favor of the mods enforcing the honor thing. I do like the idea of the set nap tiems though
