so great to see some changes ![]()
And I agree with Nandro and windowsME. I see more (new) faces now emails sent out, changes are made and challenge becomes harder. Thats what needed to keep IC alive, thats the price it has to pay.
- Pegasus and Helix ranks not showing <- DONE
- Unclickable families <- DONE
- "Rank" title for the rank column <- DONE
- Score should count once round has started (not the case currently in Tri) <- Only updates as new people join before round start
- Fam rank link on Family page only links to main rankings page <- DONE
- Highlighting of your own individual and family ranks, to make it easier to find yourself <- DONE
- Removal of the second ) after the fam number in fam ranks <- DONE

(1 minor nagpoint, if I go to another family and click their famranking maybe highlight them? or make some spacing like it used to be?)

Oh and I have to admit the ranking page now looks pretty awesome, but please, PLEASEEEE remove the score thing

That would account for planet size and NW throughout the round and would be more comprehensive.

Because the only way they can finish at the top is by saving for 2 weeks to do an eor jump and farming small fams to steal a size rank =p
whats wrong.. now we have 3 scores:
size - which family is best family this round
score - which family had best overall infra/nw
NW - which family had best eor jump ![]()

Now that's some real nonsense. The score does not in any way determine who was the best family strategically. It shows what family had the highest overall NW during the round. Now that could be fleet as well.
But what would show strength (and of course savings) better then taking planets by force from another fam. And yes I know farming small fams also gets you planets, but then other big fams should let those fams know it doesn't work that way.
I don't like the score thing at all. However I like Elro's aproach of this case.
The winner in Size will still be the true winner of the round.
Score is just a little extra to make someone else happy too, just like NW ![]()
it will be nice if smaller fams get a chance....

It does seem to me that a mid round fleet jump to boost NW, followed by simply sustaining that fleet (and that NW advantage) the rest of the round would be one very easy way to beat this new scoring system, no?
Economize until "war period of round" - save for 3-7 days, jump bombers and figs, just like EOR, take an unsustainable 20m nw lead, and lead the round for 3-4 weeks in NW, by a large margin, to win... no? ![]()

I like the way it shows ur rank combined with everything....
Its better than being higher on NW and smaller on planets..Because then u have that arguement well i won in size and u just saved up for 2 weeks and eor jumped so u dont deserve too win... This way its alot cleaner i think its alot better now myself ![]()
I actually like the idea of dividing by the number of players in the fam, means that fams that don't get many randoms at the start can still catch up. Couple of problems though, first is leaders clearing out all the noobs from the fam to improve the score, and second, if a 4 man fam is keeping up with a 12 man fam for score, they're gonna get a serious raping from the bigger fam to keep them out of it!
Found another problem... when you hit Fam rank from a fam page, it takes you to the ranks but still highlights my own fam. It should really be highlighting the fam I clicked from, or at least have both highlighted... else you find a fam, click fam rank, and then have to search for the fam in the list anyway!

Well this is great news. I've long held the opinion that if IC needs one change, it needs to change what determines "winning".
Definitely a step in the right direction. Is it the perfect solution? Time will tell I suppose, but you can't deny the fact that this will call into question current strategies for achieving top ranks.
It's exciting to see a change like this happen.
i like the new rankings but i think that your current galaxy rankings should still be left in top of the fams rankings that shows.. the leftsidebar with all galaxy ranks is cool, but would be faster if that ur current galaxy shows up the options above the rankings not mixed with the others
