Topic: Has anyone heard about this?

A hacker from somewhere in England is apparently going to be extradited to the US and could face life in prison for hacking US military computer networks.  Apparently he was simply looking for evidence the US government was aware of UFOs and he hacked about 97 computers.

I think his sentence is extremely harsh and this is the result of Westminster's lacking in a spine.  Your thoughts?

Also, has the Pentagon and all offended parties ever heard of a thing called the Intranet?

I doubt he'd get life in a US prison.  And I believe for friendly civilized nations like the UK, if a foriegn national gets prison time in the USA he can serve it in his home country.  We don't really want nonviolent felons crowding our prisons anyhow, especially foriegners.

The core joke of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is that of course no civilization would develop personal computers with instant remote database recovery, and then waste this technology to find good drinks.
Steve Jobs has ruined this joke.

Re: Has anyone heard about this?

He started out looking for proof of USA/UFO interaction.
When he found there was no proof in any Army, Navy, Air Force, NASA, CIA (you get the picture) computers he began attacking their databases.
He intentionally risked the lives of millions, possibly billions, because he couldn't handle being wrong.

I hope he gets put in a cell with a large, black, mentally ill man called George, who sorely misses holding down small children and [] them in the ass with his gargantuan cock that strongly resembles an elephant leg.

Re: Has anyone heard about this?

If the US Government is concerned about hackers getting into their secure systems they should hire the guy.  Pay him good money to show them how he got around their security measures and regularly test the revised security measures.  If I spent a lot of money on security for my house and someone managed to break in I'd pay good money to find out how.

There are 10 kinds of people in this world, those who understand binary and those who don't.

Re: Has anyone heard about this?

Or as I said before, the Pentagon, the CIA, etc should form an Intranet to prevent or reduce outside influence.  Would that help prevent hacking?

They've got quantum encrypted landlines for the most secure traffic.  But with offices all over the country they make use of regular databases.
