lol sorry joe but that is exactly how you have been acting. Hope you finally realize how much of an 'idiot' you have been ![]()
Seems joe has finally realized the point I have been trying to get inside his head ![]()
memphis will still be a number 1 seed with north carolina tennessee and ucla
Goooo UConn
They will be a dangerous 3 or 4 seed, and will win the women championship again ![]()
UNC, UCLA, Memphis, and Tenn will probably be the 1 seeds in that order, although I would take Kansas before Memphis or Tenn. 2 seeds will be the one left over from whom I mentioned, along with Texas, Duke, and Georgetown. I would bet on UNC, UCLA, or Kansas winning it all...I don't see the others doing it.
I wouldn't want to meet Drake, Vandy, or Washington State on the way if I was any top seed.
Weirdos thats crazy talk, Memphis comes before UNC, UCLA, and especially ut. Kansas should have ut's spot, and ut should drop to a 16 seed because they are stupid and from Knoxville.
Memphis should play the winner of the play-in game, and will be an easy projection to win the whole thing this year. No other teams compare to Memphis, no other teams have their kind of record neither has any other team played the kind of out-of-conference schedule that Memphis has, and Memphis swept through everything but a late-season 4-point loss to the #2 team in the nation.
memphis will not be the overall top seed without help.
If unc makes it to the finals in thier tourney they will have the overall 1 seed and play tourney in north carolina. east
memphis is a good team yes and will be a number 1 seed ,but overall 1 going into tourney no.
Tenn could drop to a 2 if they get an early exit in the sec conference tourney kansas or texas will take the 1 if they falter.
Finally somemore people in here that aren't blinded by the hometeam favoritism shown by joe ![]()
And I laugh at the fact that he says "especially UT" when it was UT that beat them...on their floor...lol
And you swept through the season because you played chump teams besides 2. You beat GU who are a good team, and you lost to UT. So your 1-1 on credible teams ![]()
Now let's break down your schedule game by game joe.
November 5 Tennessee-Martin W 102-71 1-0 (chump team)
November 6 Richmond W 80-63 2-0 (chump team)
November 15 at Oklahoma W 63-53 3-0 (Seriously now?)
November 16 at Connecticut W 81-70 4-0 (Not that bad a team, top 15 ranked now, decent win)
November 20 Arkansas State W 84-63 5-0 (Chump team)
November 27 Austin Peay W 104-82 6-0 (Chump Team)
December 4 USC W 62-58 7-0 (I guess decent but only a 4 point win)
December 15 at Middle Tennessee State W 65-41 8-0 (only 65 points against them?? chump team again)
December 19 at Cincinnati W 79-69 9-0 (my college team, and i will be the first to admit they suck)
December 22 No. 4 Georgetown W 85-71 10-0 (first good win of the season)
December 29 No. 18 Arizona W 76-63 11-0 (A decent ranked team at the time, not that great though as their new non ranking shows)
January 3 Siena W 102-58 12-0 (Chump Team)
January 5 Pepperdine W 90-53 13-0 (Chump team)
January 9 East Carolina W 99-58 14-0 (1-0) (lmao chump team)
January 12 at Marshall W 68-45 15-0 (2-0) (chump team)
January 16 at Rice W 77-50 16-0 (3-0) (chump team)
January 19 Southern Miss W 83-47 17-0 (4-0) (chump team)
January 23 at Tulsa W 56-41 18-0 (5-0) (chump team)
January 26 Gonzaga W 81-73 19-0 (usually decent but couldnt even win their own tourney, not that great this year and will fall out of top 25 after loss)
January 30 at Houston W 89-77 20-0 (6-0) (not as much a chump team yet still not that good)
February 2 UTEP W 70-64 21-0 (7-0) (watched this game, could have gone either way)
February 6 Southern Methodist W 77-48 22-0 (8-0) (chump team)
February 9 UCF W 85-64 23-0 (9-0) (chump team)
February 13 Houston W 68-59 24-0 (10-0) (same as before)
February 16 at UAB W 79-78 25-0 (11-0) (should have lost this game, and yet a chump team)
February 20 at Tulane W 97-71 26-0 (12-0) (chump team)
February 23 No. 2 Tennessee L 66-62 26-1 (lost to a good team)
February 27 Tulsa W 82-67 27-1 (13-0) (chump team)
March 1 at Southern Miss W 76-67 28-1 (14-0) (chump team yet close)
March 5 at Southern Methodist W 72-55 29-1 (15-0) (chump team)
March 8 UAB W 94-56 30-1 (16-0) (finally blew them out)
Gratitude, UNC has two losses. Please show me how they are better, or if not them, show me any team that is better. You can insult Memphis all you want but you have to compare if you're going to say they arent worthy of #1 in the nation.
It's not always about the numer of losses you have joe....you really don't know much about basketball do you ![]()
And I don't need to do any comparing, if you need any comparing just listen to ESPN. They are the professionals here, not you and me. And what they say is that UNC is the most favored team to win the tourney. Oh, and did you know Tyler is having his jersey retired at UNC because he was named Player of the Year by SportsNews? Why didnt they pick anyone from Memphis if their team is so great?
You have one loss because your conference is pathetic and and have only played 2/3 good teams. UNC has played Duke twice (going 1-1), and the ACC is one of the most challenging conferences in the nation...where on any givin day one of the bottom ranked teams can upset a top ranked team. Did you happen to watch the BC UNC game?? Rice from BC had 34 points at the end of the first half. Can anyone in your conference do that? No I think not. There is a reason everyone leaves CUSA, and its because you get no credit from beating the teams in it. Going undefeated in your conference means nothing, winning the ACC conference or Big East conference, now that is a feat.
> "And I don't need to do any comparing"
Well then you just displayed the season record for the #1 team in the country, and probably of all time. And you have no argument against that, haha!!!
The rest of your comment was just dumb and untruthful. Memphis = #1, Memphis = undefeated in conference for 2nd straight year, I'd say 2 years in CUSA = a title in the ACC. Therefore, Memphis > UNC, but keep pretending UNC is better without comparing their record, if thats what gets you to sleep at night.
joe your counterattacks are just pathetic lol
I wasn't comparing anything when I displayed the season record of the **#2** team in the country AP, **#3** USA today/ESPN poll. I was trying to show you that their schedule isn't all that great as you think it is. And you really have to be joking if you think their team is the best of all time.......How long have you even followed basketball if you truly think that??? I'll be the first to tell you that UNC, aka #1 team in the country, isn't the best of all time because there have been a hell of a lot of good teams out there.
And since you are so strung up on win loss records, here is a list of teams that won the NCAA tournament undefeated...proving *through your theory* that they are better than Memphis.
The 1957 North Carolina Tar Heels entered the tournament at 27-0. They went on to win the national title, surviving triple-overtime marathons in both the national semifinals against Michigan State and the final against Wilt Chamberlain-led Kansas.
The UCLA Bruins have entered the tournament undefeated and gone on to win the title 4 times: 1964, 1967, 1972 and 1973. They were led during all these years by legendary coach John Wooden and featured future NBA stars like Lew Alcindor (Kareem Abdul-Jabbar), Gail Goodrich, and Bill Walton.
The 1976 Indiana Hoosiers are the most recent team to go undefeated in both the regular season and the tournament, winning the 1976 title.
"And the rest of your comment was dumb and untruthful"
Once again a great counterattack!! How about you actually explain your reasonings...all you have said is look at the losses, which doesnt amount to anything. And undefeated 2 years = an ACC title?? Wow joe lol you really are trying to reach out there and pull stuff out of your ass.
You don't have to compare records to know that UNC is better than Memphis. In case you havent noticed, everyone in this thread but you has said UNC is the #1 team in the country, NOT memphis.
And on a further note, here you can see the RPI and Strength of Schedule
1. Tennessee 27 3 .6381 2 .6861
2. North Carolina 29 2 .6162 4 .6722
3. Memphis 30 1 .5898 14 .6663
4. Duke 26 4 .5948 12 .6530
5. Texas 25 5 .6070 5 .6495
North Carolina has the 2nd RPI and 4th Strength of schedule. Memphis has the 3rd RPI and 14th strength.
This is the last i will post in this thread until Memphis falls in teh tourney in the Elite 8, yes I am predicting that go ahead and mark it down. I have provided more than enough information for your simple mind to show Memphis is not the greatest team in the nation, nor of all time. Anymore counterattacks from you lately have been absurd and pointless so I'm not going to waste my time with a simpleton like you!
Have a nice day ![]()
you forget something, gratitude X( jesus is going to make memphis kittens win!
With memphis poor free throw shooting. If they get a tuff second round game i could see them falling sooner.
A lot of teams played memphis a lot closer then they should have been.
because memphis is a very streaky team when it comes to shooting. On the free throw line they are average at best.
Tenn beat em and Tenn isn't even that good. No year has all 4 number 1 seeds made it all the way. this yr memphis will not make the final four.
So this is what it is like talking to a bunch of people who dont know college basketball....
GO MEMPHIS TIGERS!!!!
lol im breaking what I said earlier and posting again
Thanks joe4444 for showing us all your maturity here in this thread with your nice comebacks and remarks. I notice how you refuse to refute or acknowledge anything that I just said to you...whats wrong, nothing to say to all the evidence in your face?
Keep praying at night for guidance for your Memphis team because the only way they win the tourney is from a miracle from God.
And joe4444 i can guarantee I know a hell of a lot more than you about basketball, I have played it since I was 5...followed it since the same age and is my favorite sport. Have you ever played ball before joe, or are you jumping on the Memphis bandwagon since they are finally doing good after how many years??
Everyone in this thread has made valid claims as to why Memphis is not the #1 team in the nation. Your 'claims' have no backbone and most of the stuff you say is stupid and irrelavent. If anyone in here is talking to someone that doesnt know basketball, it would be the rest of the people in here talking to you.
Memphis wins today and will get their #1 seed.
The vols lose today and blow their chances at a #1 seed.
Regardless of the corrupt pollsters who do not have Memphis ranked #1 in the country, it appears things are still working out right in the end. GO TIGERS!!!
Nobody ever said Memphis didn't deserve a #1 seed in the tourney joe4444 ![]()
true
I just really wanted Memphis to get that #1 in the country back.
O well... guess this would be a good time to stop being so arrogant about it, seeing as how after tomorrow all that will matter is winning the next 6 games.
Did you see any of the SEC games today? Its like an XFL game or a C-USA game between 2 teams not named "Memphis", there was like 20 fans!!!
Ya i saw the games, the reason there weren't many people at the games is because they only allowed family/cheerleaders/school reps to the game. Not exactly sure why only they were allowed, but I do know it had something to do with them having to change the location of the game.
The original place was damaged due to a storm with tornado like winds and was deemed unsuitable to play in. They made the call to change the location to Georgia Tech campus and only allowed those people above in to watch.
There were some good upsets today in basketball
Georgetown, Tenn, Duke, BYU all lost.
Yea, I heard about all that with the SEC too. Funny how C-USA gets over 14,000 fans at their championship game, in an elite NBA arena, with the #2 team in the nation winning it all at 32-1. Meanwhile, the SEC gets about 3,000 fans at their championship game, in a small arena thats not even one of their own team's, with a 16-16 team winning it all.
Gratitude, are you in the March Madness thing on facebook?
Ya im doing the thing on facebook.....I have my picks so far, but not sure if I am going to keep them that way or not ![]()
I have Memphis losing to Pitt or MSU (depending on who wins that game, I picked Pitt). I personally have Kansas winning the national championship. My final four is UNC, Kansas, Texas, and UCLA/UConn winner (I picked UCLA although I'm hoping UConn). joe4444 before you rant on about how Memphis is amazing I still think Memphis is a quality team but not in the same league as someone like North Carolina. I think they would've benefited and gone farther with a 2 or 3 seed, but I see the justification for a 1 seed (hard to argue when you have only 1 loss). Pity for them to have a tough tough road with their location and seeding.
Weirdos, theres a reason for your name, but suit yourself. Just expect me to laugh at you when Memphis makes the Final 4.
Gratitude, whats your name on facebook?
