I don't download. I go to youtube.
Others will use torrents, others will use sites, and others will use peer2peer programs like Limewire. Personally, if it's an album of songs - Torrents. If it's just one song, Limewire. You just have to be careful when using Limewire. Don't dl ridiculously small file sizes, check to make sure the song has a rate (192 kbps seems to be quite common), and always, always, scan the file with a virus scanner. Do not preview nor execute.
or buy a mac, no viruses there
no, i use limewire cuz i got a mac and thats the only easy program on mac, on a pc i'd use bearshare, thats the fastest p2p program ive ever seen
and with the least fake shizzle, and virusses and stuff
Limewire & realplayer.

You know why Mac's don't have any viruses?
Soulseek, awesome program to find rare music and all. It's truely the best for music.... But you need to get the hang of it a bit..
Alan is right, Soulseek is by far the best (public) filesharing application for downloading music, especially rare stuff. Ive been using it for almost 8 years now and have to say its still great. Other than that, topsites ftw.
yea as BiefstukFriet said, newsgroups. ok, you have to pay for the best providers but you get full speed (to what your isp gives you) and you don't have to upload anything. 200GB i downloaded in my first month of being online - my 360 weas chipped, so was downloading games all the time xD
I use anything capable of downloading stuff for anything.
i've been using limewire for god knows how long, and i've never had a problem
i've actually heard of soulseek, but neva used it... i guess i'll try it out some time
