In the USA they'd have gotten life.  And Fokker caught on what I meant.

The core joke of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is that of course no civilization would develop personal computers with instant remote database recovery, and then waste this technology to find good drinks.
Steve Jobs has ruined this joke.

You have to understand that my comment regarding the WW2 pilots was a reflection of the attitudes at the time: They are Nazis and therefore guilty, but to keep everyone happy we'll try them after the war is done."

Well most of them were probably nazis because the germans did vote them into office, but probably less than half of them weren't.

I can quite honestly say that the ending almost made me cry. I loved those guys, even the SS twerp.
