"I've had police pull me over simply because my car doesn't look like anything that they feel I could afford and give me tickets for something as miniscule as driving while on a cell phone. Despite the fact that I was calling to tell my job that I was running 10 minutes late. Cops have pulled me over simply because they were "Doing routine stops". I've had a policeman pull me over because I bought a new car and he wanted to verify that I was the owner. No matter how you see it, it's racial profiling. Something that you can't understand unless you're the target of it. I'm not saying 100% of all incidents where someone claims discrimination is true, but I seriously doubt you Flint or you Justin can comprehend the embarassment and sheer harassment that the law enforcement can give to a person."
Plenty of whites get pulled over for talking on mobiles, here in the UK anyway, because they cause deaths on the roads. That's not miniscule.
The Police will stop anyone that they believe or suspect is not the actual owner of a vehicle, for obvious reasons. It happens to plenty of whites, though, granted, I've only really seen it here in UK. The few things that I have seen about America have all been whites, though there's also alot more Police brutality in Amercia?
I'm not the victim of racial profiling, and I know I don't know how you feel. But, the above are just general things that really could happen to anyone and you'd have to be unlucky to get all of them, but people certainly will have, and been fine since they're good citizens.
I once heard of a black man buying a cadillac, then getting taken to the Police station for dangerous driving, and since he'd been actually absolutely fine, they couldn't charge him. However, upon leaving the station the same Police car then followed the black man for an hour and a half or something. That, is racial discrimination.
"The name that you hand in on your job application can get you turned away from employers because they feel that you don't fit the description of what they want without even reading your application. I've seen this first hand."
I don't doubt that, but there are many things that can get you rejected like that. Not being able to spell, for example, will get you instantly disconsidered, especially if there are alot of applicants. My Mum has got a massive and varied career in her field, yet she's been declined because of "lack of experience." Haha, I don't think so.
Something that I saw on the news yesterday. A Police DCI (I think) was having a do of some sort, and someone had bought him a model BMW to add to his collection of model cars. Upon opening he remarked: "Ah, Black man's wheels!" And do you know what? He's now been demoted a rank following some complaints. Now, really, this is a massive overreaction. Are there plans to sack all people who've made any such remark from their jobs? This is crazy, it's a massive overreaction. Absolutely ridiculous. A tongue in cheek comment got some over sensitive people. Have they nothing better to complain about? The report talked to some other people, (mainly black,) and one black man remarked: "I think it's racist, it's bracketing people, and I drive a BMW."
Then, another Black man, who is the home office advisor on Black gun and gang culture, (something along those lines,) said that the comment was actually correct based on demographic trends.
This is discrimination the other way. In the UK, there is far too much "political correctness" and we really need to take stock and look at what's really happening.
"The true office of a friend is to side with you when you are wrong; the world will side with you when you are right."
"It is not just a friend's help that helps us, but the knowledge that they will unconditionally do so."
